Jacob Bennett Derrick, pioneer resident of Takoma Park, Md., died yesterday at 3:15 o'clock at Garfield Hospital, after an illness of several months.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Takoma Presbyterian Chuch, Rev. Thomas C. Clark officiating, followed by Masonic services at the grave in Congressional Cemetery by Takoma Lodge, No. 29, F.A.A.M., of which he was a member.

Mr. Derrick was born April 7, 1866, in Newberry County, S.C. He came to this city in 1888 to accept a position in the dead letter office, which he held for 10 years. He then was promoted to the money order division serving for 29 years. At the time of his death he had been retired about two months, the last position he held being chief of the foreign postal service of the money order division.

Mr. Derrick moved to Takoma Park 33 years ago. He served several terms on the town council and was always actively interested in civilc affairs. He was a deacon and treasurer of Takoma Park Presbyterian Church at the time of his death. Mr. Derrick was for many years secretary and later treasurer of Takoma Lodge, No. 29, F.A.A.M., and in 1917 was worshipful master of the lodge. He was a member of Washington Commandery, No. 1, K.T., and Almas Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S.; was worthy patron of Takoma Chapter, No. 12, Order of the Eastern Star, in 1914, and also a member of Good Will Commandery, No. 21, United Order of the Golden Cross.

He was buried in July 1928 in Congressional Cemetery, Washington, District of Columbia, Findagrave #106392010.

James F. Wild, III, of New Providence, PA, passed away July 26, 2012. He was the loving husband of Joanne Kilburn Wild and they celebrated 57 years of marriage March 5th. Born in Lancaster, Jim was the son of the late James F. Wild Jr. and Constance Longenecker Wild. Jim was President of James F. Wild Auto Parts, 345 North Queen Street in Lancaster, which was established in 1911 by his grandfather.

He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, four wheeling, plowing snow, bowling and spending time at the family cabin in Lycoming County. He loved his hunting dogs: Buck, Tobey, Barney, Bear, Tucker and Ruger. Jim was a member of the Southern Lancaster County Sportsman Assoc., Strasburg Sportsmen, Okome Conversation Club and a life member of the NRA.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, three grandchildren, two step grandchildren, Mary Michael and Ben Eshbach; one step great grandchild, a brother, and a sister.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Gathering to remember and honor Jim at the Funeral Home of Fred F. Groff, Inc., 234 W. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA 17603 from 10 A.M. to 12 Noon Saturday, August 4, 2012. Interment will be private and at the convenience of his family.

David S. Wild, Sr., 78, of New Providence, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 12, 2019. He was the loving husband of Sandra L. Binkley Wild having celebrated fifty-six years of marriage in March.

He was the Secretary/Treasurer and Co-Owner of the former James F. Wild Auto Parts, 345 North Queen Street, Lancaster, which was established in 1911 by his grandfather.

Born January 31, 1941 in Lancaster, he was the son of the late James F. Wild, Jr. and Constance (Longenecker) Wild. David had attended New Providence Church of God, New Providence.

David will be lovingly missed by his wife, Sandra; two children; David S. Wild, Jr., married to Jennifer, of Quarryville and Kristy Wild, of Lebanon; three grandchildren; Alysha Gressley, David S. Wild III, and Lyla Rose Wild; one sister, Beverly Bauer. Additionally, he is survived by a very Special God given family; Nancy Hess Lohss, married to Fred Lohss and their children; Becca Hess and Joshua Hess. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James "Jim" F. Wild III (2012). David's late canine companion, "Boomer" was a big part of his life.

David will be forever remembered as a great husband and greatest father in the World. His grandchildren were the loves of his life. David loved life and his family. To him, family was especially important. David was loved by everyone who met him.
