According to her Social Security Applications and Claims Index listing, she remarried about 1948 to a Wager and again in 1949 to a Mabie, before marrying Thomas Reid before July 1992. Herold Bennett was previously married in 1921 to Zeda S. Chariton in Barry County, Michigan and in 1938 to Hazel M. Hinkley, but that marriage appears to have been over by April 1940 when he was listed as unmarried. Herold Lester Bennett died on 25 December 1968.

Maxine is survived by a daughter Jackie Steece and son-in-law Bob Steece of Upland, 3 grandchildren, Steven Steece of Covina, Ronald Steece of Upland, Rita Gay of Upland and great grandchildren Allison Steece, Stephanie Steece, Kristin Steece, Tyler Steece, Kelli Steece, Jacob Gay, and Abbey Gay all of Upland. She also leaves behind a sister Junnita Blair and brothers; Doc Weiford, and Dale Weiford of Massillon, Ohio, Howard Weiford of Arkansas, and Dallas Weiford of Mission Viejo, CA. She was a member of the Women-3/8s Club of Upland & the First Christian Church of Upland. Note: Cannot positively identify this individual -- possibly he died before Grace remarried in 1920. Possibly he was the Harry Johnson, age 35, listed on the 1920 census of Prairie Township, Jackson County as a boarder, single, laborer, in a dwelling headed by Frank Ballanger. This Harry Johnson was born in Missouri, father born in South Carolina, mother born in Scotland. Numerous Harry Johnsons are found in the 1900 census, including one Harry C. Johnson living at Omaha, Nebraska.
