Rebecca Carson, daughter of Neri and Susia Chaney was born in Highland County, Ohio, June the 11th, 1884. She departed this life, March 29, 1916. Age 31 years, 9 months, 18 days. She was married to John T. Carson, Feb. 20th, 1907. To this union was born three children, Joe Thomas, age seven; Ernest Chaney, age five and Jesse Gibson, age two years. A few years after her marriage she united with the Raleigh Christian church of which she has since been a faithful member. Her life was devoted to her home, her husband and her children.
Besides her husband and three little boys she leaves two sisters and two brothers--Alma and Fanny Chaney of Hillsboro, Ohio, Joseph Chaney of Mt. Orab, Ohio and Charles Chaney of Glenwood, Ind. Also two half sisters, Mrs. Ruth Mount of Aberdeen, Ohio and Mrs. Edna Griffith of Ripley, Ohio, and one-half brother Carlton Chaney of Glenwood, Ind. Besides these she leaves a host of relatives and friends to deeply mourn her loss.

DALLAS CENTER - A funeral for Ray A. Emmert, 96, of Dallas Center was held April 1, 1987 at the Stover Memorial Church of the Brethren in Des Moines. He died of pneumonia on March 28 at Spurgeon Manor in Dallas Center.
Burial was in the Panther Cemetery near Adel.
Mr. Emmert was born Feb. 3, 1891 north of Redfield, and during his youth had lived in the Minburn, Adel and Dallas Center area.
He married Bertha Row on May 23, 1918 in Dallas Center. They lived in Des Moines for 65 years until moving to Spurgeon Manor three years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha; a son, Dale Emmert of Minburn; a daughter, Cora Specht of Westfield, N.J.; a step-brother, A. Foster Sheller of Wauwatosa, Wis.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was buried in 1987 in the Panther Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Panther, Dallas Co., IA, Findagrave #14360571.
