Russell (Bubby) Casto, 75, of Ripley, died at the Jackson General Hospital there Wednesday.

He was born in Jackson County, son of the late Matt and Louella Wendall Casto.

He is survived by a son, Conard, of Mingo Junction, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Sue Lent, of Belpre; three sisters, Mrs. Audell Williams, of Ripley, Mrs. Helen Carder, of Murraysville, and Mrs. Glaldys sic Maxwell, of Charleston; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Vail Funeral Home in Ripley, with the Rev. William Eaton officiating. Burial will be in the Fairplain Cemetery.

James Coleman Williams, 62, 219 South St., Ripley, W.Va. was dead on arrival at Decatur General Hospital Saturday at 1:10 p.m.

Services will be in Ripley.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Audell Williams, Ripley, W.Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Hamric, Decatur; Miss Joyce Williams, Ripley, W.Va.; three brothers, Carl Williams, Ritman, Ohio; Collie Williams, Marshville, Ohio; John Williams, Wooster, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Parsons, Ripley, W.Va.; Mrs. Vada Coleman, Wadsworth, Ohio; three grandchildren.

The body will be taken to Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, W.Va. from where complete funeral arrangements will be announced.

Mr. Williams was struck by an apparent heart attack while visiting relatives in Decatur.

Joyce Dell Williams

Joyce Dell Williams, 56, of Huntsville died Tuesday. She was a financial services representative at Regions Bank. She was the treasurer and board member of Sherwood Civil Association.

Survivors include son, Jeff Chapman and wife, Monica, and their children, Emily and Stephanie of LaPorte, Ind.; sister, Bonnie Hamric and husband, Alva, of Decatur; niece, Charlotte Perez and husband, Al, and their son, Ryan, of Miami, Fla.; nephews, Jimmy Hamric of Decatur and Jerry Hamric and wife, Deb, and their son, Blake, of Decatur; cousins, Nancy Dolan of Dayton, Ohio, and Jim Hunter and wife, Jeanne, of Ripley, W. Va.; and longtime companion and fiance', Walter S. Thomas of Huntsville.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel.

The funeral for Alva Lee Hamric, 73, of Tanner will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Westmeade Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Scotty Hogan officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Hamric died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

He was born Feb. 17, 1934, in West Virginia to Alvie Hamric and Vergie Price Hamric.

A veteran of the Army, he retired from Calhoun Community College after 30 years of service as plant manager, where he also taught refrigeration and air conditioning. He owned H and S Nursery for 10 years. He was a member of Limestone Bee Association and the Masons.

His son, Jerry Hamric, preceded him in death.

Alva was a kind, generous and loving person who loved his wife and family, nature and animals. He was an inspiration and mentor to his children and grandsons.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie June Hamric; son, Jimmy Hamric of Decatur; daughter, Charlotte Lynn of Miami, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Deb Hamric of Decatur; sister, Eloise Burgess and husband Gene, of Spencer, W. Va.; grandsons, Blake Hamric of Decatur and Ryan Lynn of Miami, Fla.; and extended family, Faye Terry and Gary, Janice and Hannah Braudaway, all of Decatur.

Pallbearers will be Jerry King, Lionel Evans, Al Griffin, Mike Blizzard, Earl Gilbert and Whitt Mooney.

In 1990, he was elected to the ReMax Hall of Fame and was the real estate top producer of the year for 1991 and 1992. He joined the Decatur Chamber of Commerce board of directors in 1992, serving a full term, and remaining a steadfast member of the organization. Armed with degrees in business management and marketing, he was awarded a distinguished membership of Who's Who Worldwide in 1994-95. Prior to his purchase of the ReMax franchise, he also experienced success working for The Decatur Daily, Saginaw and Real Estate Plus.

As a philanthropist, Jerry was a sponsor of Alabama Jubilee and a major contributor to the Decatur Library, Dixie Youth Baseball and Austin High School athletics. He was a very generous man who donated so much time and funding to charities. His legacy is the knowledge and work atmosphere he provided at ReMax Decatur, allowing individual careers to flourish. He never lost sight of the ideal that a Realtor's first goal is to protect the public trust.

He is survived by his son, Blake Matthew Hamric of Decatur; former wife and mother of Blake, Deb Hamric of Decatur; parents, Alva and Bonnie Hamric of Tanner; brother, Jimmy Hamric of Decatur; sister, Charlotte Lynn of Miami, Fla.; nephew, Ryan Lynn of Miami, Fla.; niece, Hannah Braudaway; mother-in-law, Faye Terry of Decatur; and sister-in-law, Janice Braudaway and husband, Gary, of Decatur.
