MEMPHIS -- BYRNE, TIMOTHY PATRICK, SR., 54, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was a native of Clarksville, IN, retired from Naval Ordnance with 17 years of service and a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam Era. He was a former member of Southern Indian Coon Hunters Association, a self employed certified farrier, immediate past president of Indiana Farrier Association, former deacon of Sellersburg (IN) First Baptist Church and a member of Memphis Christian Church in Memphis. He is survived by his wife, Karen Byrne of Memphis; son, Tim Byrne Jr. of New Albany, IN; daughter, Kelly Byrne of Memphis; mother, Mildred Byrne of Clarksville; father, Robert Byrne of Winchester, KY; two brothers, Kevin Byrne of Sellersburg and John Byrne of Louisville; and a sister, Jean Byrne of Clarksville. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Memphis Christian Church, 13503 Memphis-Blue Lick Rd., Memphis, with interment in Bowery Cemetery in Memphis. Visitation will be from noon-8 p.m. Wednesday at Garr Funeral Home, 7806 Hwy. 311, Sellersburg and after 10 a.m. at the church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Lou Gehrig's Disease Association.

VERNON L. "BUDDY" NORTON, 54 years of age, died Saturday at the Waters of Salem in Salem, Indiana.
Buddy was a native of Louisville, Ky., and was formerly a supervisor with the storm and sewer Maintenance Department for the city of New Albany.
He was a member of Floyd County Post V.F.W. #3281, American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post #28, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Tamara Norton-Lindsey.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Cooley Norton; children, Tim Byrne Jr. and Shea Norton; three grandchildren, Gary, Stephanie, and Samantha; two great grandchildren, Daniel Allen and Joshua Cain; sisters, Carolyn Doyle (Rich), Marilyn Pumphrey (Sonny), Linda Wheeler (Val) and Brenda Billman; and brothers, John Norton (Judy), Raymond Norton (Pam), and George Norton (Saundra).
Visitation will be at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany from 2:00pm – 8:00 pm Wednesday March 25th. Funeral Service will be held 12:00 noon Thursday March 26th, at the Kraft Spring St. Funeral Chapel with burial in Fairview Cemetery in New Albany.

C. Louise (Armstrong) Phipps, 92, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017. She was a founding member of Hamburg Church of Christ. Louise enjoyed many things but her true love was spending time with her family.
Louise was born on July 28, 1925 in Charlestown, IN to the late James Armstrong & Eulala (Finley) Kursner. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Russell D. Phipps; son Karl D. Phipps; son in law, Wayne Rice; and siblings, Dorothy Weber, Loren Armstrong, Melvin Armstrong & Marcella Burton.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet Stockdell (Vincent) & Jo Rice; grandson Jonathan Stockdell (Olivia); granddaughter Kimberlyn Rice; great grandson, Alexander; nieces, Marla Davis & Margie Fetter; and nephew, Charles Weber.
Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1:30 PM on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). Her funeral service will follow at 1:30 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery.

SELLERSBURG – Karl Douglas Phipps, 12, son of Mr. And Mrs. Russell D. Phipps, 8217 Hwy. 60, died at 8:45 p.m. Sunday at Children’s Hospital, Louisville.
He was a member of the Sellersburg Church of Christ.
Surviving besides his parents are two sisters, Janet L. and Joyce M. Phipps, both at home; his grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. Frank D. Phipps, New Albany, and Mrs. Eulalia Kursner, Sellersburg.
Funeral, 2 p.m. Wednesday, Haas-Garr Funeral Home. Burial, Sellersburg Cemetery. The body will be at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Linn and Lloyd Lee.

Attended Purdue University.
Served four years with the United States Air Force.
He farmed and raised cattle, and was employed as a supervisor with R. R. Donnelley for 40 years.
Member of the Attica Eagles, where he served many years as a Trustee, and Served several years on the South East Fountain School Board of Education.
Member of Evangelical Covenant Church.
He loved his family, enjoyed taking all the grandchildren on special vacation trips, wintering in Florida, golfing, bowling and caring for "his girls" ( his herd of cows).
Funeral service 11am Monday, January 28 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate, with Pastor Stacey Littlefield officiating.
Visitation 3-7pm Sunday.
