From his first marriage, Don had daughters Donna Ruth (1959), and Caroline (1964).

KAPELLER, Don L.
76 years of age, of Sugarcreek Twp, passed away in peace and with dignity Wednesday, November 17, 2010. He was a volunteer firefighter for the City of Kettering from Dec 1966 thru June 1971. When the city began to create the full-time department, he was honored with the distinction of becoming the 3rd member on July 1, 1971. He retired from the Kettering Fire Dept on Dec 31, 1990. He also worked at NCR and Monarch Marking. Don was a 32° Mason in the Scottish- Rite for 31 years, member of the Shriner's, I.A. F.F. Local 2150, Kentucky Colonel, Freelance Photographer's Organization, the Greene County Fish & Game, & the Camsters. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Don is survived by his wife, Charlene, of 44 years; daughters, Stephanie Masonbrink and husband Jim, Cindy Vanover, Donna Bissett & husband Rob, Barbara Likovetz & husband Paul, & Caroline Holt & husband Aaron; and 'fire son', Tim Green. Don has 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grand children, and his little partner Precious. He has cousins of the Snell family living in Jamestown, Kettering, & Troy Ohio. He was loved deeply and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Tues November 23, 2010 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL with Pastor Bob Miller officiating. Interment following at David's Cemetery. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriner's Hospital or the Kettering Fire Dept Firefighter Memorial Fund.
He was buried in November 2010 in Davids Cemetery, Kettering, Montgomery Co., OH, Findagrave #61944591.
