Alfred Paselk was born on March 1, 1929 in Mt. Shasta, California, to Herman (Harry) and Terecita Paselk.

Al joined the U.S. Navy in time for the Korean War. He never saw combat but did learn to be a communications technician. After leaving the Navy, Al came home to Oregon, met and married Carolyn. They raised David, Stuart, Ted, Marie, and Sarah in Douglas County.

Al was a 4H leader, 4H sheep superintendent, telephone technician, Gideon, jail Chaplain, teachers aid, and farmer. Al truly loved Jesus and loved to share that love with others, especially through the Gideon's jail ministry. Al was never afraid to ask you where you would go if you died right now, Heaven or Hell? Al's goal was to reach the lost for Christ.

Al went to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of June 3, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Carolyn, his children David (Mary), Stuart (Holly), Ted (Jo Ann), Marie (David), and Sarah, his 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services to be held at Pine Grove Community Church at 1 p.m. on July 8, 2023.
