Harold Emmett Walker passed away with his family by his side on June 16. Born on November 27, 1932 to Emmett Boyd and Grace Wadsworth Walker, Harold was a graduate of the University of Tennessee where he was a member and later President of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and a Torchbearer. He began his business career in Knoxville, TN with the Ernst & Ernst accounting firm. Harold's career with the firm, now known as Ernst & Young, spanned 36 years. During his time with E&Y he served as Managing Partner of the Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Honolulu and San Antonio offices. In addition, Harold was committed to and served in leadership roles in many professional, civic and charitable organizations wherever he lived. While in Florida, he served as Campaign Chairman and later President of the Broward County United Way which began his long involvement with that organization. He was also President of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. While he was in Texas he served on the boards of the San Antonio Medical Foundation and Broadway Bank. For many years he was an active member of the Rotary Club. Harold enjoyed golf, singing and most importantly time spent with friends and family.

Survivors include Janice Carter Walker, his wife of 54 years, and a brother Jerry Wadsworth Walker (Anna) of Dallas. He is also survived by his children Mark Jackson Walker (Janet) and Megan Walker Rose (Jimmy) both of Richmond, Virginia. His adored grandchildren are Andrew Jackson Walker, Caroline Walker Rose, Margaret Garland Rose and William Harold Walker. He also leaves many nieces and nephews with whom he was close. In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Harold's lifelong commitment to philanthropy, memorial donations may be made to the Crossnore School in Crossnore, N.C., the San Antonio Medical Foundation, or any charity of your choice. A Memorial Service celebrating Harold's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 20 at Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church in Blowing Rock, NC

KEEFAUVER, MALINDA "LENNIE" BOY

Malinda "Lennie" Boy Keefauver, 89, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, in Johnson City Medical Center.

She was born in Sullivan County, a daughter of the late William and Eleanor Gallaher Boy. She was the widow of Weldon Faw Keefauver. She was a teacher in Washington County, a homemaker, and a member of Boone's Creek Christian Church for 70 years, where she taught the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class. She was a member of Ladies Home Demonstration Club.

Surviving are a son, Billy Joe Keefauver of Gray, Tenn.; two daughters, Martha K. Warren of Gray and Eleanor K. McFarland of South Boston, Va.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 8 p.m. in Boone's Creek Christian Church by Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home in Jonesborough, TN. Minister Charles Reece will officiate. Burial will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in Boone's Creek Christian Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Keefauver was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Hall in 1988; two brothers; and a sister.

Among survivors are brother-in-law Joe D. Keefauver of Johnson City; and sisters-in-law Ruby Keefauver of Johnson City, and Mrs. Jack Keefauver and Blanche Boy, both of Gray.

Pallbearers will be Gayle Carson, Denny Mayes, Mark Fox, Howard Alexander, John Payne, Donald Sims, Dennis Cox, Martin Durham and Ben Bowman. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday in the church and other times at the home of daughter Martha Warren, 131 Mark Drive, Gray, TN, and son Billy Joe Keefauver, 632 Hales Chapel Road in Gray.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Boone's Creek Christian Church Building Fund, 312 Christina Church Road, Gray, TN 37615. Dillow Taylor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

ATLANTA – Mrs. Kathleen “Kat” Keefauver Hall, 55, Rt. 13, Gray, Tenn., died Saturday, March 5, 1988, in Emory University Hospital following a brief illness.

She was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Tenn., and a daughter of Mrs. Malinda Boy Keefauver, Gray, and the late Weldon F. Keefauver.

Mrs. Hall was a member of Boones Creek Church of Christ, Johnson City, Tenn.

She was an employee of the Tennessee Department of Employment Security.

Survivors include her husband, Robert V. Hall, two daughters, Mary Lynn Hall Sims, Johnson City, and Tammie Hall Payne, Jonesborough, Tenn.; one son, Robert V. John “Don” Warren 84 of Piney Flats, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at Franklin Woods Community Hospital.

A native of Sullivan County, he was the son of the late Clyde and Irma Cartwright Warren.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his twin brother, Ron Warren, brother, Sam Warren, daughter, Sherrie Warren, and his great-grandson Cooper Durham.

He attended St. Paul United Methodist Church until his health wouldn’t allow and then he started attending services with his family at Watauga First Church of God. Don was a 32nd Degree Mason within the Piney Flats Lodge.

Don is survived by his daughters: Donna Warren Cox and her husband Dennis, Carol Warren Durham and her husband Martin; grandchildren: Sydnie Durham and her fiancé, Dustin Mitchell, Rileigh Durham; special fur grandson, “Tanner”, brother, Otis Fain Warren and his wife Martha, sister: Virginia Rutherford and her husband Harold, Sandra Hunter and her husband, Bob, the mother of his children, Martha Keefauver Warren, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life service for Don Warren will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Watauga First Church of God with Pastor Dorothy Hall officiating. A private family Graveside and Committal Service will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery, Piney Flats. Active pallbearers will be Stephen Hunter, James Good Jr., Jeff Morrell, Richard Nave, Dustin Mitchell, and Mickey Bowman. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Warren, Dean Torbett, Wayne Torbett, Robert King, Bobby Morris, and Bill Morris.

The family would like to thank the 2nd and 3rd Floor nurses at Franklin Woods Community Hospital, the Cardiac Care Floor nurses at Holston Valley Hospital, his beloved primary care doctor, Dean Mclaughlin, Family Physicians of Johnson City, and Becky Whisenhunt- caregiver.

Mr. Hall was born in Washington County and son of the late Lokie & Esther Archer Hall.

Mr. Hall was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Kat Keefauver Hall, brothers, Harold Hall and Jerry Hall and a sister, Shirley Osborne.

He was a member and served as past deacon of Boones Creek Christian Church.

Mr. Hall was a United States Navy Veteran. He served on the USS Hassayampa-A145.
He retired from the Kingsport Press, where he was a Supervisor. He enjoyed farming, raising beef cattle and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi Privette Hall, Gray; son and daughter-in-law, Robert V.
