A funeral service for P. Lancie Clippinger, 90, of Mount Perry, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ben McKinstry officiating. Burial will follow in Bell Church Cemetery.
Mr. Clippinger, who was a retired self employed farmer and logger, died Nov. 13, 2002, at his residence. He was born Aug. 12, 1912, in Utica, to the late John and Lillian (Knisely) Clippinger.
Mr. Clippinger was a life member of the Central Ohio Draft Horse Association, member of The Percheron Horse Association of America and Central Church of Christ of Mount Vernon, and a past member of the Old Stone Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Verna Belle (Clutter) Clippinger, whom he married on Dec. 21, 1933; children, Gordon (Rosemary) of Brownsville, Carlton Clippinger of Heath, Keith Clippinger and Oneta (Tom) Debolt of Utica, Ronald (Rosemary) Clippinger and Karen Clippinger of Newark, Nancy (David) Clum of Thornville and Lynn (Joyce) Clippinger of Glenford; brothers, Kenneth Clippinger of Mount Vernon, Herbert Clippinger of Florida, and Hugh Clippinger of Newark; sisters, Helen Alexander of Utica and Phylis Hutton of Findlay; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son; three brothers; two sisters; and a daughter-in-law.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark.

She was born on November 22, 1936, in Centerburg, Ohio, the daughter of Wayne and Isabel (Clippinger) Farmer. Sheila owned and operated Sheila's Beauty Shop in Bangs, for over 50 years.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose in Mount Vernon, Amvets Post #95 and Red Hat Society. In her spare time, Sheila enjoyed bowling, crafts and working in her garden. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother that will be missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her children, Earl "Sonny" (Wendy) Smith of Fredericktown, Mike (Becky) Smith of Mount Vernon and Cindy (Don) Harbaugh of Danville, five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and a sister, Phyllis Anne (Jim) Dixon of Newark.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Earl W. Smith (2017), a great granddaughter and a sister, Carolyn Holtz.

MOUNT VERNON - Earl Wray Smith, age 83, of Mount Vernon, OH, passed away on Thursday, November, 9, 2017, at Grant Hospital in Columbus, OH.
He was born on September 12, 1934, in Ironton, OH, to the late Earl C. and Mary (Goshett) Smith.
Earl was a lifetime member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge and a social member of the AMVETS and the VFW.
He retired from Columbia Gas, after 37 years and had been a driver with Robertson Truck Sales for 22 years.
Earl is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sheila (Farmer) Smith; two sons, Earl "Sonny" (Wendy) Smith of Fredericktown, OH and Mike Smith from "On the Hill"; a daughter, Cindy (Don) Harbaugh of Danville, OH; a sister, Eleanor Jo (Harvey) Keckley and one brother, Jeffrey (Becky) Smith, both of Mount Vernon, OH; along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Starlie Holtz, 75, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 14, 2021.
He was born in Newark, OH on December 23, 1945, to the late Donald and Catherine (Cunningham) Holtz.
Starlie was a devoted husband and father.
He is survived by his daughter, Carrie (Tony Hall) Stone; stepson, Gary (Lisa) Butler; Sister, Donna Snider; grandchildren, Austin, and Brooklyn Stone; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved niece Erin Cottrell.
In addition to his parents, Starlie was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn (Farmer) Holtz; and brothers, Charles Holtz, Kenny Holtz, Larry Holtz, Donald Faye; and Stepson Jerry Butler.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home 985 N. 21St Newark, Ohio 43055. Funeral will take place at Brucker and Kishler on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 1:00 pm, Pastor Larry Miller officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 12-1:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service with military honors presented by the Licking County Veterans Alliance will take place at Newark Memorial Gardens Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.

Gerald F. Butler passed away October 20, 2015 at the age of 55.
Gerald was a devoted husband, father and family man and dedicated member of the Hamilton Police Department and Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #38.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife, sons and five grandchildren; his brother and sister.
He will be deeply missed by many family friends. Visitation will be from 10am to 1pm Tuesday, October 27 at the Princeton Pike Church of God, 6101 Princeton Glendale Rd., 45011.
