P. Lancie Clippinger

A funeral service for P. Lancie Clippinger, 90, of Mount Perry, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ben McKinstry officiating. Burial will follow in Bell Church Cemetery.

Mr. Clippinger, who was a retired self employed farmer and logger, died Nov. 13, 2002, at his residence. He was born Aug. 12, 1912, in Utica, to the late John and Lillian (Knisely) Clippinger.

Mr. Clippinger was a life member of the Central Ohio Draft Horse Association, member of The Percheron Horse Association of America and Central Church of Christ of Mount Vernon, and a past member of the Old Stone Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Verna Belle (Clutter) Clippinger, whom he married on Dec. 21, 1933; children, Gordon (Rosemary) of Brownsville, Carlton Clippinger of Heath, Keith Clippinger and Oneta (Tom) Debolt of Utica, Ronald (Rosemary) Clippinger and Karen Clippinger of Newark, Nancy (David) Clum of Thornville and Lynn (Joyce) Clippinger of Glenford; brothers, Kenneth Clippinger of Mount Vernon, Herbert Clippinger of Florida, and Hugh Clippinger of Newark; sisters, Helen Alexander of Utica and Phylis Hutton of Findlay; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son; three brothers; two sisters; and a daughter-in-law.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark.

Kenneth A. Clippinger

MOUNT VERNON: A funeral service for Kenneth A. Clippinger, 86 of Mount Vernon, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Milford Church of Christ, 3648 Johnstown Rd., Centerburg, with Pastors Gary Thomas and Russell Waddell officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Centerburg.

Ken died April 13, 2011 at Knox Community Hospital, Mount Vernon. He was born December 31, 1924, in Utica to the late John and Lillian (Knisely) Clippinger.

Ken was a very active member of Milford Church of Christ for over 50 years. He and his late wife were owners of Clippinger Pest Control for 40 years. Ken was employed by Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Mount Vernon for over 30 years and was a graduate of Utica High School.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Lonnie Higgins of Mount Vernon, Sharon and Gary Wiseman of Waynesville; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Barb Clippinger of Findlay; grandchildren, Carrie (Ron) James, Lonnie Higgins, Jr., Garet Wiseman, Todd (Rita) Clippinger, Kim (Travis) Jordan, Colby (Angie) Clippinger; step-granddaughter, Kasey (Travis) Jordan; great-grandchildren, Shelby Holbert, Loni Higgins, Logan Higgins, Alexis Jordan, Austin Clippinger and Aubrey Clippinger; great great-grandchildren, Tawnii and Brandon Scott; brothers and sister-in-law, Herbert Clippinger of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Hugh and Shirley Clippinger of Newark; former daughter-in-law Pat Clippinger.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Kaye E. (Gorley) Clippinger who passed away March 24, 2004; brothers, Lancie, Eugene, Donald and Ivan Clippinger; sisers, Isabel Ferguson, Doris Dunlap, Phyllis Hutton and Helen Alexander.

Kaye E. Clippinger

A funeral service for Kaye E. Clippinger, 79, of Mount Vernon, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Milford Church of Christ with Pastors Larry Hiles and Russ Waddell and Darin Pratt officiating. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery.

Mrs. Clippinger, a co-owner of Clippinger Pest Control, died March 24, 2004, at Mount Carmel West. She was born March 18, 1925 in Johnstown, to the late Homer and Blanche (Mitchell) Gorley.

Mrs. Clippinger was a member of Women in Touch and Youth Group at Milford Church of Christ, where she was a member for 45 years.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Clippinger of Mount Vernon, whom she married Sept. 12, 1944; son and daughter-in-law Richard and Kathy Clippinger of Upper Sandusky; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Lonnie Higgins of Mount Vernon, and Sharon and Gary Wiseman of Waynesville; daughter-in-law, Pat Clippinger of Centerburg; grandchildren, Todd and Rita Clippinger and Billings, Mont., Kim and Travis Jordan of Wadsworth, Colby and Angie Clippinger of Centerburg, Carrie and Ron Jones of Fresno, Ohio, Lonnie and Tonya Higgins of Hanover, and Garret Wiseman of Waynesville; great-grandchildren, Shelby Holbert, Loni Marie Higgins, Logan Higgins, Austin and Aubrey Clippinger, and Alexis Jordan; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and brothers and sister-in-law, Homer Gorley, Jr. and John and Nancy Gorley, all of Mount Vernon.

Mrs. Clippinger, a homemaker, passed away June 14, 2008, at her residence. She was born March1, 1914, in Licking County, to the late Charles A. and Tillie E. (Hays) Clutter.

She was a member of Central Church of Christ, Mount Vernon, where she was the organist for many years. She was an 80-year member of the Morgan Grange.

EARL WRAY SMITH

MOUNT VERNON - Earl Wray Smith, age 83, of Mount Vernon, OH, passed away on Thursday, November, 9, 2017, at Grant Hospital in Columbus, OH.

He was born on September 12, 1934, in Ironton, OH, to the late Earl C. and Mary (Goshett) Smith.

Earl was a lifetime member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge and a social member of the AMVETS and the VFW.

He retired from Columbia Gas, after 37 years and had been a driver with Robertson Truck Sales for 22 years.

Earl is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sheila (Farmer) Smith; two sons, Earl "Sonny" (Wendy) Smith of Fredericktown, OH and Mike Smith from "On the Hill"; a daughter, Cindy (Don) Harbaugh of Danville, OH; a sister, Eleanor Jo (Harvey) Keckley and one brother, Jeffrey (Becky) Smith, both of Mount Vernon, OH; along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Burial in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
