Julie Rose Muse, beloved sister, aunt and friend passed away from this life on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at her residence after several years of declining health.
She was born to J.C. Muse Jr. and Grace Archer Muse April 14, 1958, in Mountain City, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Jody and Archer Muse.
After graduating from Johnson County High School in 1976, where she excelled on the inaugural tennis team, she began work at Kingsport Dental Lab. Julie worked for her uncles, Kenneth and Fred Archer, learning the industry from them. She took pride in providing high quality dental prosthetics for many regional dentists. After many years of working, she became the sole owner of Kingsport Dental Lab.
Julie enjoyed watching a variety of sports on TV, especially tennis and the Lady Vols. Julie had a heart of gold and was extremely generous to her family, friends and employees throughout her life. She was especially proud of her nieces and nephews and was always urging them on to success. Julie loved her family and friends fiercely and enjoyed her time with them.
She is survived by sisters, Margaret Briscoe (Jack) of Memphis and Luanne Hoilman (Danny) of Johnson City; sister in law, Judy Sanders (Mike) of Kingsport; nieces: Grace McKinney (Craig) of Los Angeles, Sage Magid (Aaron) of Elkridge, Lindsey Gastright (Andrew) of St. Petersburg; nephews: Allan Muse (Evee) of Kingsport, Paul Hoilman (Emma) of Johnson City, Scott Hoilman of Johnson City; great nieces: Rainie and Lizzie Hunter, Callie Muse, Adar Briscoe-Magid, Kathryn Hoilman (her "precious"); great nephews: Bruce Hunter and Westin Gastright.
Julie helped and touched many people with her thoughtfulness and will be missed tremendously!
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 PM, Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain City, Tennessee, with Minister Tim Hall officiating.
She was buried in October 2022 in Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain City, Johnson Co., TN, Findagrave #244930520.

Edgar Bourne "Ed" Harris, of Ocean Isle Beach, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
The son of the late Selden H. Harris Jr. and Evelyn V. Bourne Harris, Ed was born in Radford, Virginia, on Feb. 19, 1948. He attended Allegany High School in LaVale, Maryland, where he was an outstanding athlete in football and wrestling. He was a graduate of East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee, where he received both his Bachelor's (Health Education) and Master's (Education Administration) degrees.
After being employed by the Fulton County Educational System in Atlanta and the Public Health Department in Rutherfordton, in 1977 Mr. Harris moved his family to Shallotte where he was employed as the public health director for Brunswick County before founding Comprehensive Home Health Care in 1981. Mr. Harris began with 13 employees in a tiny house in Supply and expanded his business to include almost 800 employees in 14 offices in both North Carolina and South Carolina.
Surviving are his children, Allison H. Williams and husband, Richard, of Shallotte, KD Harris Diallo and husband, Ibrahima, of Brooklyn, N.Y., Sawyer Covington and Mason Covington, both of Mebane, and stepdaughter, Ashley Howerton and family, of Greensboro; two brothers, Selden Harris III and wife, Dianna, of Brandenburg, Ky., and Charles "Brownie" Harris of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Morgan P. Williams, Mackenzie A. Williams, Sylla M. Diallo and Fatimatou Haiz Diallo; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
He was cremated.

Mary Clippinger Hunter
MOUNT VERNON – Mary C. Hunter, 96, of 12260 Sycamore Road died Thursday at the Country Club Center Nursing Home in Mount Vernon.
She was born May 24, 1895, in Knox County to George and Sarah Rowe Clippinger, both now deceased, and spent her life in the county, where she taught school in Miller Township for many years.
She was a member of the Brandon United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, George D. Hunter of Mount Vernon and Bill Hunter of Fredericktown; five daughters, Miriam Dunn, Mary Ann Dintaman and Freida Beech, all of Mansfield, Iona Compton of Centerburg and Esther King of Mount Vernon; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Blanche Snavely of Mount Vernon.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde D. Hunter, in 1989; a son, David Hunter, in 1944; a grandchild; and four brothers, Lester, John, Basil and Stanton Clippinger.
Calling hours are Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Dowds-Wiggins-Snyder Funeral Home, where services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Thomas Wallace. Burial will be in Brandon Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Brandon United Methodist Church through the family or in care of the funeral home.
