ROBERT D. MYERS
69, of Springfield, passed away at 6:02 a.m. July 10, 1990 in Mercy Medical Center following one and a half years of failing health. He was born in Springfield, February 3, 1921, the son of Earl and Hazel (Baker) Myers and resided here most of his life. He had been employed in the Foreign Technology Division at Wright Patterson Air Force Base for 30 years retiring in 1978. Prior to that time he was a self employed commercial artist in York, Pennsylvania and followed a lifelong avocation in fine arts. He was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, the church choir and was a World War II United States Army veteran. Survivors include in addition to his mother of Springfield; his wife, Doris; and seven daughters and spouses, Roberta and Pete Whitacre, Karen and Robert Manns, Deborah and Michael Acton, Diane Tumblison and Valerie and Jeffrey Briner, all of Springfield, Susan and Glenn Martin of Longmont, Colorado, Mary Gail and Timothy Jones of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Betty Whalen; and one brother, Elwood, both of Springfield; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; a number of nieces and nephews. Friends may call in the Conroy Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral mass will be sung at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Raphael Church. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to St. Raphael Church.

DORIS LOUISE (DIETRICH) MYERS
94, of Springfield, OH, passed away peacefully on June 5 2016 in her home. Doris was born on July 31, 1921 in York, PA, the daughter of William H. and Florence (Munchel) Dietrich.
She graduated from York Catholic High School, class of 1939 and from Thompson Business School as a stenographer. She was a former member of St. Mary's Church in York, PA, and of St. Raphael Church in Springfield, OH. She had a strong passion for faith, family and literature.
She is survived by her seven daughters and spouses, Bobbie and Pete Whitacre, Karen Turner, Deborah and Michael Acton, Diane and Pat Bonfield, Valerie and Jeff Briner, Susan and Tom Miles and Mary Gail and Tim Jones.
Surviving also are many beloved grandchildren and their families as well as her faithful yorkie, Pepito.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William Francis and Edward Anthony, and her beloved cat, Niki.
Entombment in Rose Hill Burial Park.

FITZWATER, Carl “Mike”
Age 72, of Springfield, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016 in his home. Mike was born August 13, 1944 in Springfield, OH to Carl and Mary (Wertz) Fitzwater. He was 1963 graduate of South High School where he was a standout athlete. He later retired from the SPECO Corporation after 33 years. Survivors include his wife, Vickie (Shipton) Fitzwater; six children, Shelley Halpin, Amy Fitzwater, Robert (Lynn) Fitzwater, Tonya (Eric) Higgenbotham, Lisa (fiance, Mike Althouse) Fitzwater and Lynsey (RJ) Ikegwuonu; two step-children, Jamie (Darrell) Murphy and Chris Gansheimer; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Nori Fitzwater, Linda Harris, Patty Malone, Karen Combs, Tonya (Art Poling) Frock, Penny Kunkle; brother-in-law, Tim Shipton; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Suzanne “Mugs” Wagner and Mary Louise “Wheezer” Picard; brother Joseph W. Fitzwater. Mike was a sports enthusiast and especially love his Ohio State Buckeyes and Go Bucks! He coached little league baseball in his younger years. He had many friends that will always remember his wonderful sense of humor and his love for his cats. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-7 pm in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the Clark County Humane Society.

LONG BEACH
William L. Hiles, 80, received his final PCS orders on Monday, September 14, 2015 and is standing watch at Heaven’s Gate.
He was born December 23, 1934 in Idaho, Ohio. He was a veteran of Vietnam and had over 40 years of military and federal government service. His assignments took him to more than 40 countries, territories and islands. He retired in November 1998 in Washington, D.C. from the United States Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hallie Hiles; and three brothers, Charles, John and Forrest Hiles.
He is survived by his wife of over fifty-seven years, Janet L. Myers Hiles; one daughter, Brenda L. Hiles of Long Beach; one son, Steven P. Hiles of Vancleave; his grandchildren (Steven’s children) Cassandra “Cassie” West, Jennifer Suber, Nathan W. Hiles and Christopher Garrett; and his great-grandchildren, Cassie’s children: Tyler Raymond West, Brantley Pride and Colin Lee West; Jennifer’s children: Garrett Cameron Garrett, Conner Grayson Suber and Kaylieh Alexis Garrett.
He was a Life Member of the First Marine Division, a member of the Mississippi Chapter First marine Division Association, Marine Corps League, and a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Biloxi, where a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 24th. Friends my (sic) visit one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Internment with military honors will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Biloxi.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in William Hiles honor to the Bethel Free Clinic, 1650 Carrol Dr., Biloxi, MS 39531.
