Carol Taylor, 90, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 14 with her loving family at her side.
Mrs. Taylor was born on July 5, 1928, in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of Orville and Lois (Stouffer) Cullar. She married Raymond C. Taylor on August 16, 1949, and together they would raise three children.
Carol was a long time member and organist at the Leetonia Mennonite Church. She enjoyed cooking and sewing, but her greatest love was spending time with her family and friends. Carol liked to watch game shows, especially The Family Feud and Cash Cab.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her children L. Royce of Nashville, TN, Lyle (Suzanne Picinich) of Youngstown, and Cindy (Tracy) Schultz of Columbia, SC; ten grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond who passed January 1, 2013, and an infant great-grandson Noah.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 18 at 12:00 PM at Leetonia Mennonite Church, 764 Columbia St., Leetonia, Ohio, 44431.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday from 11am-12pm, at the church.
The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.

BOARDMAN- Raymond C. Taylor, 84, of Columbiana, passed away at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman on January 1 with his family at his bedside.
Raymond was born on May 5, 1928 in Greenford, the son of William and Edith (Charlton) Taylor. He was the eldest of nine children.
A graduate of Fairfield Central High School, Raymond joined the Army Air Force in 1946. He served in occupied Japan after WWII as Staff Sargent and later earned the title Air Traffic Controller before being honorably discharged in 1952.
On August 16, 1949, Raymond married the former Carol Cullar. He was a longtime member of Leetonia Mennonite Church and served as lay minister for the former Hope Mennonite Church in Columbiana. He also served as an elder of Leetonia Mennonite Church.
Mr. Taylor was an active member of the Columbiana American Legion post #290. He was post commander in 1993 and was the chaplain for many years at this and other posts. He was a lifetime member of the honor guard and presented many flags to widows after military services over the years. He was very proud of his country and would often be called upon to sing the National Anthem at public events.
Raymond worked as an operating engineer, working out of Mahoning County local #66 for over 40 years. He specialized in heavy crane operation. He also would work as a Salvation Army bell ringer and was the voice of the Columbiana Street Fair. One of his favorite jobs was as Santa Claus, which he did for over 25 years, for whoever needed a visit from Santa.
Raymond leaves to cherish his precious memory, his wife, Carol; a son, Lynn Royce of Nashville, TN; a son, Lyle (Suzanne Picinich) of Youngstown; a daughter, Cindy (Tracy) Schultz of Irmo, SC; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters, Lois Sauerwein, Eileen (Donald) Leffel, and Linda Van Dyk, all of Columbiana; a sister, Marilyn (Dallas) Gallagher of Lisbon; a brother, Arlen (Jeanne) of FL; and brothers Randall (Ellen) and Dale(Barbara), both of Columbiana.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Taylor, in 2012.
Interment will be in Columbiana Cemetery. Following the committal service at the Columbiana Cemetery Chapel where a military honor service will be conducted by American Legion Benjamin Firestone Post 290 of Columbiana.
He was buried in January 2013 in Columbiana Cemetery, Columbiana, Columbiana Co., OH, Findagrave #103145773.

Nancy Louise Jackson, a beloved mother, devoted Navy wife and cherished grandmother, passed away on October 17, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Wauseon, OH to the late Leland and Louise Hoops, Nancy grew up in Huntington Beach, CA alongside her four siblings.
Nancy was a graduate of Phineas Banning Senior High School in 1962 and went on to study at Anderson College in Long Beach, CA. On November 1, 1964, she married the love of her life, Vernon Ward Jackson, Jr, who preceded her in death on June 3, 2008. Together, they created a loving family where Nancy was the dedicated anchor of their Navy family. With 29 years of service, they were stationed in various locations, including Okinawa, Japan, Norfolk, VA and San Diego, CA. They finished their time with the Navy at Purdue University ROTC and settled into civilian life in West Lafayette, IN. Nancy was loved and admired for her ability to create a sense of home for those she served in various capacities in the Purdue Residence Halls.
Nancy was a woman of strong faith and extended the love of Jesus to all she came across including her family, church friends, the nurses in the hospital, and the teller at the grocery store. Her kindness and compassion were evident in every area of her life. Her love extended to her involvement in supporting various ministries such as Compassion International and With Love From Jesus as she so enjoyed impacting those in need whether through words or practical gifts.
Nancy's greatest joys in life were her family and her role as a grandmother. She leaves behind two children; six grandchildren; and three siblings. Her family was a source of immense pride and happiness, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her warm smile, caring spirit, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
There will be two memorial services held in honor of Nancy; one in North Carolina and one in Indiana.
Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 AM (family only at 10 AM) on Saturday, October 21, 2023 with funeral service from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM at Shepherds Church, 6051 Tryon Road, Cary, NC 27518. Family will receive friends from 4:00-4:30 PM on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Traders Point Christian Church, 6590 S Indianapolis Road, Whitestown, IN 46075. Celebration of life will be at 5:30 PM. Graveside service will be at 11 AM on October 24, 2023 at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, 1718 W 350 N, West Lafayette, IN 47906.

Vernon W. Jackson Jr., 63, of West Lafayette, died at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born May 8, 1945, in Anderson, he was the son of the late Vernon W. Sr. and Florence M. Harvey Jackson. He graduated from Purdue University and had lived in West Lafayette for the past 22 years.
He married Nancy L. Hoops on Nov. 1, 1964, in Long Beach, Calif., and she survives.
Mr. Jackson retired from the Navy in 1992, after serving for 29 years. He then became the manager of Follett's Book Store.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion, John Purdue Club and Purdue Alumni Association.
He enjoyed yard work, and Purdue football and basketball.
Surviving with his wife are a son, Vern Jackson III (wife: Kristi) of Zionsville; a daughter, Karen L. Doidge (husband: Dennis) of Apex, N.C.; a brother, Jim H. Jackson of Erie, Pa; and two sisters, Darlene Freeman (husband: Don) of Springfield, Mo., and Mary Sterrett of Anderson. Surviving are 6 grandchildren, Matthew, Melissa and Jonathan Doidge and Taylor, Madison and Jacob Ward Jackson. He was a Purdue football and basketball season ticket holder for 22 years.
