Mary Irene Myers, 82, of Letart, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006. She passed away at Pleasant Valley Hospital from complications due to an asthma attack. She was a homemaker.
Irene was a gentle person, humble in spirit with a God given quality for her favorite pastime and hobby of quilting. She was also a member of the Old Town Board Baptist Church
She was born June 17, 1923, in Letart, daughter of the late Dwight and Laura (Fry) Gibbs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tobey Myers; brothers, Dallas Gibbs and Bernard Gibbs; and niece, Janice Hendricks.
Survivors include a caring sister; Josephine Robinson of Letart; nephew, Denver, and wife, Sharon Gibbs; niece, Sandra and husband Charles Wise, both of Letart, ; eight grand nieces/nephews; and 10 great-grand nieces/nephews; and a caregiver, Betty Mayes of Henderson.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Foglesong- Tucker Funeral Home in Mason, with Revs. Gregory Collins and Paul Chapman officiating. Burial to follow in Board Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from noon-1 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Board Baptist Cemetery, Route #2, Box 67, Letart, WV 25253
