Marja was born September 7, 1931, to Fred Russell Purvis and Alta May (Peaslee) on a farm northwest of Baldwin, Kansas. Her father farmed and worked as a road grader, and she helped her mother raise chickens and tend to the garden. Marja graduated from Baldwin High School in 1948, and she married her sweetheart Ralph Pearson the next summer on July 7, 1949 with the wedding held at her parent's home. Ralph opened a sheet metal and HVAC shop and Marja helped by answering the business phone from home while raising the family. Marja loved to quilt and embroider. Ralph and Marja were married for nearly 70 years. Ralph passed away on May 19, 2019. Marja followed him a handful of weeks later, passing on June 27, 2019. Together they had three children and seven grandchildren.

Elton Dale Haid was born on 16 May 1935 in Topeka, Shawnee Co., KS; son of John Wesley and Emily Martha (Field) Haid. He married Mary Elizabeth Pearson daughter of Raymond Sigel Pearson and Mary Katherine Randel, on 6 October 1962 in Topeka, Shawnee Co., KS. Elton Dale Haid died on 31 July 2013

Elton Dale Haid, age 78, of Lawrence, passed away at KU Med Center, July 31, 2013. He was born on May 16, 1935, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of John and Martha (Field) Haid.

He grew up and attended school in the Topeka area, moving to Baldwin City in 1964 and in 1968 he moved to Lawrence, KS where he resided until his death.

Elton was employed by Kansas Color Press and Packer Plastic in Lawrence until 1991 and was a printer until 1995 when he retired. He was a member of the GCIU Union and a member of the AACA-Antique Cars. He also served in the Army.

He married Mary Pearson on October 6, 1962 in Topeka.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother s John, Ronnie, and Delbert and sisters Edna DeMotte and Elsie Kopp.

He is survived by his wife Mary of the home, a sister Donna Moore of Topeka, and brothers Clyde Haid of Topeka and Glenn Haid of Meridan.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin City from 1:30 P.M.-2:30 P.M. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Oakwood Cemetery, Baldwin City, KS. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of KS or Visiting Nurses sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O.
