Harold R. Deardorff, 75, died Saturday, May 3, 2014, at the Village of Laurel Run in Fayetteville. He was the husband of Leslie A. (Smith) Deardorff, his wife of 47 years. Harold was born May 23, 1938, in Franklin Twp., Adams Co., the son of the late Harold K. and Lillian (Sharrah) Deardorff. Harold was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in East Berlin, and was a 1956 graduate of Fairfield High School. He served as a District Justice in Adams Co. for 30 years, and was also a member of Liberty Fire Co. #1 in East Berlin, the East Berlin Lions Club, and the Sons of The American Revolution. He was a devoted father and enjoyed farming. In addition to his wife, Leslie, Harold is survived by three daughters, Patricia G. Covert and her husband, Anthony of Leesburg, Va., Kathleen S. Greenough and her husband, Charles of Leesburg, Va., and Ann D. Deardorff of East Berlin; four grandchildren, Benjamin Covert, Leslie Cameron Covert, Violett Greenough, and Thomas Greenough, all of Leesburg, Va.; a brother, Edward Deardorff and his wife, Tammy of Fairfield; and a sister, Sue Ann Osterman of Cashtown. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 117 W. King St., East Berlin, with his pastor, the Rev. George B. Scott, officiating. Burial will be in East Berlin Union Cemetery.
