However, on the January, 1920 census, he was listed living with his mother with marital status "S". Apparently the marriage with Elva broke up in the 1917 - 1919 timeframe. DLB 2021. Elva Irene Nichols died in November 1971.

She was buried in 1971 in Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield, Vernon Co., MO, Findagrave #117547127.
