Per Lawrence Johnson: Jonas Hoover Jr. died of typhoid in 1901 and Mary Ellen and the children lived with Jonas Hoover Sr. at the large white farm home that was located south of Miller Rd., Commercial Point, Ohio. In April 1914, Mary Ellen married George Adkins. Their home was on a farm located on the south side of Miller Rd., Pickaway Co., Scioto Twp.

Obituary - Mary Ellen Adkins. Mrs. Mary Ellen (Hoover) Adkins, 67, died at her home on Route 104 Thursday night. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the United Brethren Church, Robtown, with interment made in Darbyville Cemetery by A.J. Hott Company. Deceased is survived by her husband, George; two daughters, Mrs. Florence Hanes, and Mrs. Chester Johnson; two sons, Lawrence Hoover, and George Adkins, 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and two brothers, and two sisters.

John O. Green, Local Contractor Succumbs. John O. Green, age 62, 112 North Harris Avenue, original trustee of the Burgess Avenue United Brethren Church and building contractor in Columbus for more than 33 years, died at his home, Friday, following an illness of more than a year. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hannah E. Green; two daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Neal and Mrs. Dorothy McCann of Columbus; three sons, Percy, Virgil and Robert of Columbus; two brothers, Rev. L.W. Green former pastor of Hilltonia United Brethren Church, now of Wellston, and Henry of Columbus; four sisters, Mrs. Laura Wolford of Columbus, Mrs. Mary S. Adkins of Bloomfield, Mrs. Alice Farnham of Massieville, and Mrs. Tessie Yorenpenn (Younkin) of Commercial Point. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday at Spears Chapel. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.

Mrs. Pearl Farnham. Mrs. Sarah Alice Farnham, 62, Route 8, died at 7:05 p.m. Monday in Chillicothe hospital where she had been admitted March 17. The daughter of Henry and Sarah Murphy Green, she was born in Pickaway county and on April 14, 1911, married Pearl M. Farnham. Surviving are the husband; three sons, Paul and Glen Farnham both of Cincinnati, and Ernest Farnham a t home; five daughters, Mrs. William Skaggs, Mrs. Clyde Carl, Mrs. Wilbur Brannon and Mrs. Robert Raypole, all of Route 8, and Mrs. Charles Zimmerman, Cincinnati; two sisters; Mrs. Frank Wolford, Columbus, and Mrs. Howard Younkin, Commercial Point; a brother, Henry Green, Columbus, and 21 grandchildren. The Rev. Ben Ward will officiate at the service to be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Household of Faith in Massieville. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery here by the Ware funeral home where friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday.
