Rhea Davis

Rhea (Petete) Davis, age 73, 118 N. 4th St., Seminole, died Saturday morning in the Seminole Hospital. Born

July 6, 1908 in Atkins, Arkansas. She was a bookkeeper and a longtime resident of Seminole. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Seminole, the Rebecca Lodge 242 and the B.P.W. Club. She is survived by her husband John Sherman Davis of the home; one son, Clyde Wayne Petete, McAlester; also four grandchildren, Gary Petete, Columbus, Ga., David Petete and Martha Petete, both of McAlester and Dwight Petete of Ada and one great-grandchild; four sisters, Della Knight and Gladys House, both of Seminole; and Ester Moss, and Opal Chilcoat, both of Holdenville; three nieces and one nephew. Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Swearingen-Arnhart Chapel with Rev. Bob Hammon officiating. Burial will be in Holdenville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Virgil Limb, Pinky Coates, Fay Dacus, O. O. Anderson, Emery Magruder and O. E. Woolbright. Honorary bearers will be Howard Aikins, Fred Adwan, Chester Ellis, Frank Killingsworth, Kenneth Hidgon and Ray Davis.

Mamie Mae Petete

Mamie Mae Petete, 320 South Bullitt, died Wednesday in Boyce Manor Nursing Home at the age of 77. She

was born in Berry County, Mo. Dec. 27, 1905. She came to Oklahoma as a small child to the Yeager area and moved to Holdenville in 1918. She was married to Cecil C. Petete in 1923. He preceded her in death Aug.5, 1976. Survivors are one son, James of the home; one daughter, Mary Evelyn Wilson of Holdenville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Nellie Middleton of Holdenville and one daughter-in-law Mary Thelma Petete.

One son preceded her in death July 25, 1969. Funeral services will be in the Church of the Nazarene Friday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Billy Duncan officiating

assisted by Meredith Robinson. Burial will be Holdenville Cemetery, under direction of Hudson Funeral Home.

Obituary:

James Edker Petete, 320 South Bullitt, died Sunday at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Talihina at the age of 59. He was born in Tulsa Feb. 16, 1924 and had lived in Holdenville most of his life.

He was a veteran of W W II and served in the United States Army. Survivors are one sister, Mary Evelyn Wilson and one brother-in-law Doyle Wilson of Holdenville, one sister in-law Mary Thelma Petete, Moore, and several nieces and nephews. Services were held today at 2:30 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Meredith Robinson officiating. Burial was in Holdenville Cemetery.

CECIL RAY PETETE

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday for Cecil Ray Petete, 40, of Moore who died Friday afternoon at Presbyterian Hospital, Oklahoma City, following surgery. Calvin Ussery of Moore will officiate, assisted by Rev. David Hall at the Nazarene Church in Holdenville. Burial will be in Holdenville Cemetery, under direction of Hudson Funeral Home. Bearers will be, Kenneth Love, Roy Kincaid. Dale Middleton, Willard McCasland, Fred Roff, and Theo Petete. He was born in Yeager, March 25, 1929 and grew up and attended school in Holdenville. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Survivors are his widow, Mary Thelma, of the home, two daughters, Dayna Petete and Marsha Petete, of the home, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Petete of Holdenville, and one brother, James Petete, Oklahoma City, one sister Mary Evelyn Wilson of Holdenville, and his grandmother, Mrs. Myrtle Brown of Holdenville.
