SonJohn F. Allender (b. July 1886)

Biography

David Allender was born on 21 January 1847 in Ohio

Date per Dix Family Tree genealogy prepared by DixK99, online at ancestry.com. 1900 census shows June 1847.

Both parents born Pennsylvania, per census info.2,3,4

He married Nancy Jane Bonnell on 23 July 1871 in Guernsey Co., OH, 1900 census says they had been married 25 years, but unless she was David's second wife (a possibility), it was more like 1872, prior to the births of Laura and Lillie. She was clearly fudging her age in 1900 -- the marriage date may have been supporting fudge.2,3 He died on 3 February 1919 in Center Twp., Guernsey Co., OH.

Note: Probably this is the David Allender, age 21, son of Thomas and Anne Allender, found in the 1870 census, Washingon Twp., Guernsey County. Compared with later censuses, there are 2 discrepancies: Thomas' birthplace is shown as Ohio, whereas the birthplace of David's father is later stated to be Pennsylvania. Also David's birth year is later stated to be about 1847 - 1848.4 David Allender lived in 1870 in Washington Twp., Guernsey Co., OH.4
