HENDERSON, Dorothy M. Age 95, of Kettering, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018. She was born in Dayton, OH on March 2, 1923 to Franklin P and Mayme E Hartinger. Dorothy was a loving, devoted wife and caring mother of three children for over seventy years. She graduated from Patterson Cooperative High School and Co-Oped and then worked at DELCO for six years. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Science, Dayton. In 1944, Dorothy married Andrew Henderson who preceded her in death after 66 years. She was a homemaker who loved sewing, attending her children's various school functions, sporting events, and scouting while tracking her children's educational progress. She and Andy were active members of the Children's Conservancy League (CCL) where she shared her children's developmental journey with other CCL parents as she learned from their experiences.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers, George F (Rosalie), and Donald Hartinger; sister, Martha J Myers; daughter, Barbara J (David) Levy of Naperville IL; son-in-law, Douglas Bauer of Thomasville, GA. She is survived by daughter, Judith Bauer of Thomasville, GA; son, Douglas (Stephanie) of Oakwood, OH; grandchildren, Melanie (Barry) Blow (nee Bauer) and Brian Bauer of Thomasville, GA, Claire, Allison, Elizabeth, and Tess Henderson of Oakwood, OH; and several nieces and nephews.

HENDERSON, Andrew B. age 93, of Kettering, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2010. Born in Morrison, Illinois, Andy graduated from Lane Technical High School in Chicago, IL and received his BS in Electrical Engineering from the Armor Institute of Technology (Illinois Institute of Technology). He was a life-long learner, attending numerous graduate schools including The Ohio State University, Stevens Institute of Technology, Air Force Institute of Technology, Washington University, and Wright State University. After working in New Jersey for Zenith Radio Corp., he came to Dayton, Ohio, to work for the Army Air Corps at Wright-Patterson AFB for 34 years. He retired in 1974. While there, he was instrumental in developing many innovative programs and systems during the early years of radio telemetry and fire control. Andy was a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio for over 60 years. He had a First Class Telephone and Telegraph License and attained an expert amateur radio license (W8SR). He was an avid amateur radio enthusiast for over 77 years who helped many children in Dayton obtain their amateur licenses. Andy was a member of the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers (IEEE), past president of the IEEE National Aerospace & Electronics Conference (NAECON), a consultant and volunteer for the City of Oakwood for over 25 yrs. on the Miami Valley Cable Communication Council, and logged over 2000 hours as a volunteer at Kettering Memorial Hospital. He was a Master Mason and member of the John W. Durst Lodge, Dayton, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents Caroline and Washington Clarence Henderson and sisters Nellie and Ellen Henderson and Grace Lasher, all of Chicago, IL. Andy is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dorothy (nee Hartinger); daughters Judy (Doug) Bauer of Thomasville, GA, and Barbara (David) Levy of Naperville, IL; son Doug (Stephanie) Henderson of Dayton, OH; grandchildren Melanie and Brian Bauer of Thomasville, GA, Claire, Allison, Elizabeth and Tess Henderson of Dayton, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at 1:00 P.M. at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior at the funeral home. Interment will be in Dayton Memorial Park cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Andy's honor to the charity of your choice. Condolences and other remembrances may be sent to the family at www.routsong.com.

Rosalie's birth name was Oris Rosalie Lucas. She was the daughter of Lawrence Clinton Lucas and Lillie Blanche King. She married George Franklin Hartinger, born September 8, 1917 at Williamsport, Pickaway Co., OH.
Rosalie was a well-known genealogist and co-author of "A Cramer-King History," by O.L. Flaningam, R.L. Hartinger and M.C. Emanuel. She contributed data and articles for many publications, such as "The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Magazine," "Ohio Records and Pioneer Families," "Ohio - Gateway to the West," and various historical society publications, such as "Laurel Messinger" (Sumerset Co., PA). She was honored by the Somerset County Historical Society with a lifetime membership for her years of contributions. She was a member of the NSDAR.
George was the son of Franklin Pierce Hartinger and Mayme Elizabeth Pabst. He was a flight engineer, and for 33 years was a civilian employee at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio. He spent five years in the Air Force.
Rosalie and George had two daughters: Connie Louise Hartinger Harlan and Donna Lynn Hartinger who died in infancy.
