Anna Magdalena Dildine was born on 4 August 1809 in Fairfield Co., OH.1 She married John Wolfe, Jr., son of John Wolfe. She died on 8 October 1872 in Linn Co., IA,

Obituary (Findagrave.com):

Anna M. Dildine was born in Fairfield County, Ohio, in 1809 and was baptized as "Anna Magdalena Diltein" with other members of her family in 1814. Her parents, Daniel and Margaret (McEwen or McQuown) were originally from Pennsylvania.

In 1824 the family moved to Seneca County, Ohio. There Anna married John Wolfe about the year 1830.

Anna and the children followed John Wolfe to Linn County, Iowa, in 1840 or 1841 and the farm remained in the family for several generations.

John Wolfe's tombstone is still readable in the Ivanhoe Cemetery.

John Wolfe died early in 1848, and Anna married a widower, Ohio born as well, named William S. Rolf (also spelled as Ralff or Rollf) later in the same year.

The recomposed family appears on the US Census of 1850.

Although at least two children were born to this union, the couple appears to have divorced.

By 1860 Mrs Wolfe had reverted to her first husband's family name on the US Census. Perhaps frontier pragmatism was a factor? Such is but speculation with the passing of time.

A William S. Rolf was still living in Saunders County, Nebraska, in the mid 1880s.

Anna's descendents include doctors, lawyers, teachers farmers, soldiers, sailors, midwives, and nurses....

She was buried in October 1872 in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, Linn Co., IA, Findagrave #76780595.
