David Jackson Culver was born on 17 August 1860 in Monroe Twp., Darke Co., OH; son of Benjamin Franklin and Nancy (Williamson) Culver. Illinois Death Index shows birth location Licking County, Ohio, however, the 1860 census of Monroe Twp., Darke County, 26 JUL 1860, lists the Culver family (p.145), farming, and they were still there in 1870, so a 60-mile excursion east to Licking County in August of 1860 seems very far-fetched. A more likely explanation is confusion on the part of the person giving the information at his death. DLB 2021.
