Florence M. Forney, 89, of 1644 Baltimore Pike, Hanover, died Monday, Oct. 22, at the Gettysburg Village Green Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Claude L. Forney, who died in 1980.
Born Dec. 29 1900, in West Manheim Township, York County, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mandella (Heil) Saltzgiver.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and the Sunday school class. She was an employee of the Hanover Shoe Co., where she retired in 1965 after 15 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Louise Williams and Shirley Mickley, both of Hanover; a son, Levere Forney of Union Bridge, Md.; two brothers, George Saltzgiver and Clark Saltzgiver, both of Hanover; two sisters, Irene Warehime and Arlene Haines, both of Hanover; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with the parish pastor, the Rev. Luther G. Heist Jr., officiating. Interment will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Louise Irene Williams, of Hanover, passed away peacefully May 13, 2010.
Born September 5, 1929, in Penn Township, York Co., she was a daughter of the late Claude L. and Florence (Saltzgiver) Forney.
Mrs. Williams was employed for 10 years with Snyders of Hanover and Utz Potato Chip Co., Hanover. After raising her family, Louise returned to work with Hanover Pen Co. and last, with Hanover Shoe Co. until her retirement.
She was a member of Trinity U.C.C., Hanover.
Surviving are two daughters, Starlett L. Hood and husband, Eric A., and Michelle K. Williams, both of Hanover; one sister, Shirley Mickley of Hanover; and one granddaughter and one grandson, Kaybrea S. Hood and Austin E. Hood.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Levere Forney, and ex-husband, Charles E. Williams.
Interment was in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
She was buried in May 2010 in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, York Co., PA, Findagrave #52400158.

Beaver, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norval Beaver, New Oxford, Thursday evening at 7 o'clock in the parsonage of the Manchester United Brethren church. The single ring ceremony was performed by the pastor, the Rev. Ivan Kemperlin. Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Norval Beaver, Jr., brother and sister-in-law of the bridegroom. The bride was attired in a navy blue dress with white and black accessories and wore a corsage of white carnations and red rosebuds. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bridegroom's parents. The couple will reside at the home of the bride's parents.

Shirley M. Mickley, 80, of Hanover, entered into God's eternal care Thursday, March 13, 2014.
Born on Wednesday, February 21, 1934 in Bachman Valley, MD, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Florence Saltzgiver Forney. She was also preceded in death by a son, Alan R. Beaver who died in 2012, a brother Levere Forney and a sister, Louise Williams.
Mrs. Mickley had been employed by Hanover Shoe, Black and Decker and Cremer Florist for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and had previously held memberships with Hanover Home Association and the AmVets Post #22, and the Harold H. Bair American Legion Post #14. A skilled gardener, she enjoyed working outside in the dirt rather than being indoors. She also enjoyed sewing and making crafts.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra E. Garland and her husband, John of Hanover, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.
The family will receive friends at a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 am Monday, March 17, 2014 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. A graveside service will follow at 11 am at Marburg Memorial Gardens with The Rev. Peg Grzelkowski officiating.
She was buried in March 2014 in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover, York Co., PA, Findagrave #126305118.

Born September 8, 1926 in Walkersville, she was the daughter of the late Samuel M. and Belva Reva Baugher Keeney.
She was the wife of Levere Claude Forney, who predeceased her in 1993.
Mrs. Forney was formerly employed with H.L. Hartz for 49 years as a seamstress. She enjoyed camping and caring for her dogs. She loved to go to yard sales and collect dolls.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, William Robert and Sandy Forney and Roy Levere and Millis Forney, all of Union Bridge; five grandchildren, Tammy Hayden, Tina Forney, Peggy Garber and husband Dwayne, William Forney Jr. and wife Lisa, Roy Forney and wife Sherri; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Albaugh of Waynesboro, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by siblings, Virginia, Frances, Mildred, Walter, Charles, Sam and Roland.
The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge, 6-8 p.m. Saturday, May 7.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, May 8 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ashley Hilliard, officiating. Interment will follow in Rocky Hill Cemetery, Woodsboro.
