Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Sherman Smith, this city, announce the marriage of their daughter, Miss Isabelle Smith, to Harold H. Jackson, 1516 Shelby street, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Jackson, which took place April 3 in Covington, Ky. The couple will reside at 258 Cherry Street.
There is a photo of Isabelle in the New Albany High School Yearbook (1933) when she was a sophomore.
Isabelle was living at the Good Samaritan Home in Evansville, Indiana at the time of her death.

Jean Marie Jackson Hanz, 73, died peacefully on August 26, 2019, at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.
Jean was born on February 4, 1946 in New Albany, Indiana, where she grew up and graduated from high school. She received a BA degree from Elmhurst College, Elmhurst, Illinois and a Master in Social Work degree from the University of Houston, Texas. After college Jean worked for the Red Cross in Services to Military Hospitals during the Vietnam War in Texas, Japan and Okinawa and later worked for the Dallas County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Jean married Roger Hanz in 1974 and they had one son, Brian, who was born in 1978. After Brian’s birth, Jean became a stay-at-home Mom and later worked part-time as the Administrative Assistance at New Covenant UMC in Sunnyvale, TX. Upon retirement in 2004, Jean and Roger moved to Kingsport, Tennessee.
Jean was an avid quilter – extremely creative, talented and generous. Of a total of 164 quilts which Jean made, she gave 114 quilts as gifts: 43 baby quilts; 33 quilts to special friends; and 38 quilts donated to the Stitch and Pray Ministry at First Broad Street UMC and the Wounded Warriors.
Jean was preceded in death by her father and mother, Harold and Isabelle Jackson, and by her brother and sister, Glen Jackson and Joan Hottle. She is survived by her husband Roger, son Brian, daughter-in-law Athena, and two grandchildren, Lahna and Lily.
Jean will be cremated. A service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held Thursday, September 5, 2019, at 3:00 PM at First Broad Street UMC, 100 E. Church Circle, Kingsport, Tennessee. A reception will follow at the church. There will be a display of some of Jean's quilts in the Chapel which can be viewed before or after the Memorial Service.
Memorial contributions to First Broad Street UMC are preferred in lieu of flowers.

H. Hudson Trusty, 63, died 8:08 p.m. Thursday at Veterans Administration Hospital, Louisville. He resided at 1811 Valley View Road and was a native of Clark County. He was a retired adjuster for the Meridian Mutual Insurance Co.
Survivors include his wife, LaVern Jackson Trusty; three sons, Roy H. of Sellersburg, Ray S. of Friendswood, Texas and Terry W. of New Albany; his mother, Mrs. Dessie Johnson of New Albany; one brother, Stanley of Corsicana, Texas and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Central Christian Church, with burial in Graceland Memorial Park. Friends may call at Dieckmann Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Expression of sympathy may be made to the student scholarship fund of Central Christian Church.
There will be a Masonic Memorial service at the funeral home Sunday evening.

Funeral services for Van A. Proctor, 60, of Jeffersonville, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept 28, at Scott Funeral Home's North Chapel, with burial in Graceland Cemetery. He died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at his home.
He was a native of Louisville, a devoted family man, a retired electroplater for the Naval Ordnance Station Louisville, an Army veteran, a member of the Clark County AMVETS Post 4 where he served as a Past Commander and as a Past Commander of the 4th District of the Department of Indiana AMVETS.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa "Terry" D. Proctor, New Albany; two daughter, Melissa D. Coyle, New Albany and Mimi D. Alexander and her husband, Allen Standafer, Jeffersonville; a son, Phillip J. Proctor and his wife, Kirstie, Jeffersonville; a sister, Mildred Spalding, Clarksville; a brother Bill Proctor, Dallas, Texas; and nine grandchildren, Amelia Buskirk, Katie and E. J. Knell, Kristopher Alexander, Bradley and Tyler Standafer, Devon Proctor, Dyson and Kaydence Heineman.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27.
The family requests expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Department Commanders Special Project AMVETS of Indiana or to VistaCare Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
