The allegory had been upon the stage for the past two nights, under the auspices of the Cincinnati Relief Union, and the proceeds were to have been applied to the relief of the suffering poor of this city. The performers, numbering nearly six hundred children, were taken from the public schools of the city; and, as the object was a worthy one, and the children who took part were those of old residents of the city, large audiences were present at each presentation of the allegory.

MRS. ALICE COST HOWE

Mrs. Alice Cost Howe, 79, of 240 Rodes avenue, widow of Robert J. Howe, died at 7 o'clock today at the Good Samaritan hospital after an illness of five weeks.

A resident of Lexington for the past 10 years, Mrs. Howe was born in Cincinnati, a daughter of the late Richard H. and Sarah Eva Arnet Cost. Her education, which was received in Cincinnati, included musical training and she was the organist for the First Methodist church of Carrollton for 10 years before coming to Lexington. She was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church.

Mrs. Howe is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W. L. Salyers and Miss Leonora Howe, both of Lexington: two brothers, Morris E. and Richard H. Cost, Cincinnati, four grandchildren, Robert K., James, Mary Alice and David H. Salyers, all of Lexington, and several nieces and nephews.

Interment will take place at Carrollton, Ky., at a time to be announced later. The body was removed to the W. R. Milward mortuary.

She was buried in April 1939 in Carrollton I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Carrollton, Carroll Co., KY, Findagrave #31550891.
