ANDREW WALLUKAIT

Humboldt- Andrew Wallukait, 97, Humboldt, died Wednesday at Tompkins Health Center in Fort Doge.

Services will be 3 p.m. today at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral home in Humboldt, with the Rev. Russell Dilley, pastor of Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt, Officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt.

Survivors include daughters, Marie Rundle, Bella Vista, Ark. and Patricia Reid, Mesa, AZ.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Christine Beebe, Humboldt; and brothers, Chris, Fort Dodge, and john, Sioux City. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and three brothers.

He was born Sep. 14 1896 in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. At age 6, he moved with his family to Dakota City, where he was educated. He graduated from Humboldt High School. He attended Iowa State University in Ames and became a civil engineer. He served in the United States Army during World War I and married Minnie Munger in 1923 in Des Moines. They lived in Adel, where he was employed as the Dallas County engineer for more than 40 years. After retiring, they moved to Dakota City in 1967. His wife died in 1979. He then lived in Humboldt before moving to Bella Vista, Ark. for six years. In 1991, he moved to Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge.

He was a member of the American legion and was a 50-year member of the Masonic lodge. He also was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt, where he served as a former Sunday school teacher and superintendent. He also served as a Boy Scout leader in Adel.

He was buried in September 1993 in Union Cemetery, Humboldt, Humboldt Co., IA, Findagrave #42122490.

Mrs. Vivian Shuey, 74, of Urbandale, died of complications of Alzheimer’s Disease Monday, Mar. 10 at USA Health Care Center. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at Grandview Park Congregation of Jehova’s Witnesses. Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 14 at Graceland Cemetery, Creston, IA.

Vivian was born in Creston, IA. She lived in Des Moines most of her life where she worked as a customer service representative at US West Telephone Company until she retired in 1990. She was a member of Grandview Park Congregation of Jehova’s Witness. She enjoyed time with her family and the ministry of her faith.

She is survived by two sisters: Rosalie Kalwishky, Sun City, AS and Ruth Dugas, Youngsville, LA; and a brother, Lloyd Reid, Mesa, AZ and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harland.

Friends may call 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at Grandview Park Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease Association. Grandview Park Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

She was buried in March 2003 in Graceland Cemetery, Creston, Union Co., IA, Findagrave #17459299.

Rosalie was born July 2, 1931 in Creston. She was a real estate agent in Des Moines and was last employed by Iowa Realty.

Survivors include her husband, David of Sun City, AZ; three daughters, Diane Sauer of Rocklin, CA, Cindy Cox of Waukee and Joan Tursi of Des Moines; a sister, Ruth Dugas of Youngsville, LA; and a brother, Lloyd Reid of Mesa, AZ. She is also survived by eight grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Wilma Reid and a sister, Vivian Shuey.
