Joyce H. Bloomer
Joyce H. Bloomer, 48, of Agoura Hills passed away on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, in Woodland Hills.
Joyce was born on Feb. 19, 1953, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and had been a resident of Agoura Hills for 20 years. Joyce enjoyed her life and was a true Renaissance woman. She enjoyed cooking, reading, needlework and especially traveling. She was an appraiser for 22 years for the State Department of Real Estate, and continued to nurture and cherish the many friendships that she made over the years. Her most intimate and warm moments were spent with her family and friends.
Joyce was able to spend 23 wonderful years with her husband, Nap. Her children, husband and family were the center of her life; she truly loved being a mom. She also loved music and was a (sic) accomplished cellist. Joyce played for 20 years and performed for 10 years. She played with the American Youth Symphony under the direction of Mehli Mehta. Mehli Mehta is the father and mentor of one of the world’s greatest conductors, Zubin Mehta. Thirty-three years ago he created the American Youth Symphony to prepare young musicians to become the professional musicians of tomorrow. Nearly 100 of his students have gone on to playing world class orchestras throughout the world. She was also a member of the Chamber Music Ensemble. She opened her heart, her home and her life to all who were fortunate enough to call her “friend” and will be greatly missed by many.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Napoleon “Nap”; her two sons, Raymond Charles and Ryan Reid; her parents, Edwin and Marilyn Hecker; her sister, Judith Angius; and her brothers, Hugh Hecker and Jim Hecker.
Memorial contributions may be made for Joyce’s children, Ryan and Raymond Bloomer, Account 1001081791, Wells Fargo Bank, 5770 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village, CA 91362.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Westminister (sic) Presbyterian Church, Westlake Village. There will be a private interment at Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks, Westlake Village.

Michael Henry Reid May 27, 1981 – October 8, 2010 Michael was and will always be so many things to so many people. A deeply loved son of Patsy and Henry Reid. A cherished grandson of Doris and the late Klare Cortas Moyer and the late Elsie V. Reid. An extraordinary brother treasured by Roby, Kristi and Tricia. A very special and dear uncle adored by Mina, Brianna, Max and Jake. And an unforgettable friend to everyone he knew. We are all so blessed to have had Michael in our lives. His warm heart and fun loving personality were felt by all. Mike had hugs you never forget. He was a comforting shoulder to lean on and a caring and exceptionally genuine person that would do anything for his family and friends. Mike had so many talents and interests. He always excelled in sports, and hockey was a favorite. Mike enjoyed music, and, if you were lucky, would even break out his guitar and play for you. He'd love cooking a meal for family or friends. Michael was always up for an adventure and lived life to the fullest. No matter your age, you could be certain you would have a great time if you were with him. Michael was adored by his nieces and nephews, who at 2 and 3 years old already knew Uncle Mike was the best person in the room to play with. We will never forget the excitement in their little voices yelling "Uncle Mike, Uncle Mike!" Michael will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. He will be with us in our hearts and souls everywhere we go. Michael will live on in our stories told and memories shared. He will continue to bring smiles to our faces and love to our hearts with every thought of him. Michael, we thank you for all the happiness and joy you've brought into our lives. We love you more than words could ever express.
