Obituary -- (Findagrave.com):
George Greening, 95, of Old Bridge, NJ, died Sunday, November 12, 2017, at home, surrounded by family. Born at home on Christmas Day, 1921 in Kansas City, MO, he married Eleanor Childs Hill of Washington, DC on Thanksgiving Day in 1959.
A G.I. in Europe during World War II, trained in code and cipher by the British, he served in the Signal Corps at HQ 8th Air Force; then at HQ U.S. Strategic Air Forces in Bushy Park (London). From Bushy, beginning in Normandy, he was in and out of England, France, and Germany. Points from a Bronze Service Star and five (sic) Overseas Service Bars sent him home aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise.
He arrived home in time for Christmas 1945. Home was a dressmaking shop in Kansas City, MO where his mother, Cora Greening, had earned their living in the Depression. Postwar, in their apartment in New York, on November 17, 1958, she died suddenly at age 65. His father, Ira Greening, seven years in an orphanage and four in the US. Navy, had died in 1925.
The G.I. Bill gave him the chance to study economics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Columbia, and at NYU; and so to be employed as an economist at Lafayette College, Lehman Brothers, and Rutgers. While with Lehman he met Eleanor who was working at Exxon with degrees in economics from Vassar and Columbia, who had worked for the Marshall Plan, but was considered by her husband and children to be at her very best at home with her family. The end came on November 1, 2004 with her death on All Saints Day, just short of their 45th anniversary.
George and Eleanor loved to be called "Granddad" and "Grammy" and nothing made them happier than being grandparents to two wonderful girls. George is survived by daughters Nancy and Carol, granddaughters Paige and Nora, and his cousin Mabel's son Robert.
George will be buried alongside his wife with a graveside service that will be held at 2pm Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 725 Baltimore St, Hanover with The Rev. Joshua N. Rhone officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Obituary -- Fort Worth Star-Telegram; Fort Worth, Texas; Sunday, May 12, 2013; Page 59 (GenealogyBank.com)
ARLINGTON -- Harry Naill Mason passed away Monday, May 6, 2013.
Harry was born in New York City with a double cleft lip and a cleft palate. He needed emergency surgery upon birth to breathe and eat. Over the years, having many surgeries, he became tough yet sensitive to the needs of others. Growing up in the Bronx projects with a physical deformity and a single mother, he learned to be tough, yet always sensitive to the needs of the less fortunate.
He left home at a young age, made his way first on offshore oil rigs where he quickly advanced to the top and acquired his position as a driller, and then as manager of a Texas communications tower company, Trico Tower Service. For the past 20 years, Harry put all his focus and energy into raising his one and only son, Nathan Mason, and going to work no matter how he felt. Despite serious medical conditions, he continued to work. Although he did not need to climb towers, he did so as early (sic) as a month ago.
Harry will be remembered by his loved ones as being generous, loyal, dedicated to his family and, yes, difficult and grumpy at times, but who could blame him. He left us too soon, at 59. He will be missed immensely and remembered always.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Mason; and his mother, Mary Naill.
SURVIVORS: His son, Nathaniel Riley Mason of Arlington; sisters, Jennifer Mason Zurowski of Hobe Sound, Fla., Dovia Jenna Mason Fehrenbach of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Linda Duswalt Ciangetti of Manahawkin, N.J.; brother, Steven Duswalt of Austin; nephews Matt Reece, Cliff Reece and Eric Scroggins; and nieces Alannahg Mason and Stephanie Duswalt.
