Death relieved the sufferings of Mrs. Loretta Laisure, wife of Elwood Laisure, Monday after she had been seriously burned while starting a fire early that morning.

About 6 o'clock Mr. Laisure smelled coal oil and saw a light. He hurried down stairs and found his wife lying on the floor with her night dress in flames. He tried to wrap her in a table cloth but it was too late to save her. Her hair was burned off and her flesh was terribly charred. Mr. Laisure was also badly burned in his attempt to rescue her.

The deceased was fifty-six years old and is survived by the husband, two sons and one daughter, John Laisure of Arkansas, Wesley and Nelie Laisure of this city.

Funeral services will be conducted at the late residence on North West Street Thursday morning at 10:00 o'clock.

She was buried in November 1920 in Fountain Park Cemetery, Winchester, Randolph Co., IN, Findagrave #106272984.

Daniel Urick Died from Paralytic Stroke

Daniel Urick, a prominent farmer of Adams County, residing east of Craigville, one mile west of Monroe, passed away Thursday night, death being the direct result of Bright's disease. Although having been afflicted with the disease for sometime, Mr.Urick was not compelled to take to his bed until about a month ago. Last Sunday the deceased suffered a slight stroke of paralysis and on Tuesday noon a repetition of the stroke in heavier and more severe form attacked him. The deceased never fully recovered from the last stroke, which hastened his demise . Mr. Urick was well advanced in years, there being some dispute as to whether he was eighty- four or ninety-one years. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Urick and practically his entire life was spent in Adams County. Eight children survive the loss of their father, there being five girls and three boys. Four brothers, Joseph, Samuel, John and Jacob, are also still living. Mr. Urick was a civil war veteran.

The funeral services will be held Sunday morning at 10:30 o'clock from the Winchester Church , south Monroe, and interment will be made in the Smith Cemetery.

He was buried in May 1915 in Smith Cemetery, Monroe, Adams Co., IN, Findagrave #57833090.

Daniel Urick began military service Civil War service.
