Ronald Readmond

Funeral services for Ronald J. "Ron" Readmond will be held at 11 a.m. today at Jenkins Memorial Church in Riviera Beach. Mr. Readmond, 63, of Baltimore died suddenly May 5 at North Arundel Hospital. The cause of death was not avail able. Mr. Readmond was born May 14, 1937. He held an associate's degree in criminology from Catonsville Community College. After service in the U.S. Navy, he worked for the Baltimore city Police Department and retired as a sergeant in 1986. He was a member of Jenkins Memorial Church and American Legion Post 40, where he was chaplain. He also was past master of the Latrobe Lodge of Masons and a member of Elks Lodge 2262 of Glen Burnie, Moose Lodge 1456, Brooklyn VFW Post 2916, the Pasadena Square Club and Lodge 3 of the Fraternal Order of Police. He enjoyed bowling and gardening and was involved in numerous other community projects.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes Symons Readmond; two sons, Kevin and Michael Readmond of Linthicum; two stepdaughters, Sherry Howes of Woodbine and Barbara Richards of Marriottsville; one sister, Maureen Readmond of Harundale; and two grandchildren. The Rev. Robert Douglas will conduct the services. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fink Funeral Home.

Injured in Collision

Three persons were injured early yesterday morning when a car in which they were riding was in collision with another at Hilton parkway and Winterbourne road.

The injured were taken to the West Baltimore General Hospital in ambulances.

One of the drivers, identified as James N. French, 22, of 210 Glenmore avenue, Catonsville, suffered lacerations of the face. A companion, Lindsay Tucker, 21, of 29 Fusting avenue, Catonsville, was treated for lacerations of the face and abrasions of both knees. Another passenger in the car, Miss Lorraine Unger, 20, of 21 Edmonson Ridge road, Catonsville, suffered a fractured leg and multiple lacerations of the face and head. She was admitted to the hospital.

The other driver, identified as C. Herbert Pund, Jr., 20, of 3118 West Virginia avenue, was unhurt.

Jack Dempsey, 30, of 3325 Winterbourne road, caught his hand in the door of one of the wrecked cars in attempting to take it to the side of the street and was treated at the hospital for a crushed finger.

Pund was summoned to Traffic Court on a charge of failing to give right of way and French was accused of reckless driving.

On April 8, 2016, Thomas Unger Franklin of Eldersburg, beloved husband of Barbara Franklin (nee Podolsky), devoted father of Jarret Franklin and Judith "Cori" Klein; father-in-law of Jennifer Franklin and Thomas Klein; loving brother of James Franklin; son-in-law of Alice June Podolsky and dear grandfather of Isabella Grace Franklin and Maxx Anthony Franklin.

The family will receive friends at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm and Thursday from 6 to 7:30 pm. A prayer service will follow the visitation on Thursday at 7:30 pm. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Thomas Franklin (1945 - 2016)

Thomas Unger Franklin, age 71, of Eldersburg, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016, at Carroll Hospital after a long illness. Born February 9, 1945, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Russell Franklin and Lorraine Unger Franklin. He was the devoted husband of Barbara Podolsky Franklin. Tom had retired in 2010 from the Henry H. Lewis Contracting firm in Reistertown, MD where he had been a project manager for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hunting, fishing, crabbing and the Eastern Shore culture. Depending on the circle of friends, Tom was known as "Mr. Fix It", Popular Mechanics, or "Too Tall". He was an avid Ravens and Orioles fan.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter and son-in-law, Jarret and Jennifer Franklin; daughter and son-in-law; Judith "Cori" and Thomas Klein; brother, James Franklin; mother-in-law, Alice June Podlosky, and grandchildren, Isabella Grace Franklin and Maxx Anthony Franklin. James William Behringer was born on 12 September 1918 in Wisconsin. He married Harriette Virginia Rhawn, daughter of Heister Guie Rhawn and Mary Cordelia Franklin, on 7 November 1947. James William Behringer and Harriette Virginia Rhawn were divorced. He died on 18 October 1976 in Sterling, Loudoun Co., VA.
