BAD AXE – Ross M. Harner, 64, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 10, 1981, in Sarasota, Fla.
He was born Aug. 22, 1917, in Hersey, Mich. He married Muriel M. Williams in February 1939 in Muskegon.
Mr. Harner was a station agent for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad in Port Huron, Pigeon and Caseville. He had worked in Bad Axe for the last 21 years, retiring in 1980. He was the owner and founder of Bad Axe Honda Sales. He was an avid photographer.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Dale, Richard and Michael, all of Bad Axe; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Patricia) Wing and Mrs. Bruce (Pamela) Hoffman, both of Lapeer, and Mrs. Henry (Bonnie) Sheldon, Bay city; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Florence) Peterson, Grant, Mich,, and Mrs. Carl (Mary) Pierce, Monterey, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Dan Shinabarger, pastor of the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Verona Cemetery.
Visiting hours begin at 7 p.m. today in the MacAlpine Funeral Home.
