Obituary -- (Findagrave.com):
From The Laclede Blade, March 20, 1914 - "DIED FROM EFFECTS OF MEASLES" The subject of this sketch, Florence V. Coleman, Daughter of Harrison and Catharine Miller, was born November 16, 1855, in Virginia and died at her home in Laclede, March 15, 1914, at the age of 59 years, 4 months and 29 Days. In early childhood she moved with her parents to Ohio, and from there to Illinois and thence to Iowa, where she was united in marriage to Mills Coleman, February 14, 1882, at Fort Madison. In 1892 they brought and moved onto a fine farm in the South Eagle neighborhood, six miles southeast of Laclede and resided there until 1903, when they moved to Laclede, where they have since made their home. Some nineteen years ago, Mrs.Cole united with the South Eagle United Brethern Church. The love and peace that governed her life only spoke of the consistency with which she served her Savior. Two weeks ago she was strickened with the Measles, which brought on a complication of diseases that resulted in her death. The funeral was held at the home Tuesday at 2 p.m. conducted by her pastor, Rev. Hudson. The remains were laid to rest in the Laclede Cemetery. She leaves to mourn their loss a devoted Husband, Mother, Brother and many friends. She was loved by all who knew her and her departure brings much sadness to their hearts.
