Eugene was born to Clarence and Ruth Boozel Raymond. He married Norma Jean Swanson in Bushnell, Ill., on Feb. 23, 1946.
Gene is survived by his wife; two sons and three daughters, Gary Raymond, Judy (Brett) Brooks, Mary Raymond, David Raymond and Terry (Tim) Rench; three grandchildren; two step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Raymond; and two sisters, Betty Shelley and Lois Howlett.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Gene retired from W.I.U. Office of Public Safety.
He was a member of I.P.A. and the Bushnell Odd Fellows.
He also enjoyed woodworking, trap shooting, gardening and fishing.
Cremation rites have been accorded and graveside services for burial of ashes will be held at Bushnell Cemetery.

Norma J. Raymond age 87 of Bushnell, IL passed away at 10:42 A.M. Sunday February 16, 2014 at Wesley Village in Macomb, IL. She was born on June 18, 1926 in Bushnell, IL to Axel V. and Eva M. Downs Swanson. She married Franklin Eugene Raymond in Bushnell, IL on February 23, 1946 and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2012. Norma is survived by 2 Sons and 3 Daughters – Gary Raymond of Bushnell, IL, Judy (Brett) Brooks of Bushnell, IL, Mary Raymond of Frisco, TX, David Raymond, and Terry (Tim) Rench both of Bushnell, IL, 3 Grandchildren, 2 Step Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and several step great grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 Brother and 2 Sisters – Dorothy Farr and Pat Wilson both of Bushnell, IL and Robert Swanson of Valrico, FL. She was also preceded in death by her Parents, 3 Brothers (Clifford, Dale & Howard Swanson), and 2 Sisters (Evelyn Swanson & Marian Ingles). Norma was a past member of the Bushnell United Methodist Church and she was a loving mother. Cremation Rites have been accorded and Graveside burial of ashes will be on Friday February 21, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. in the Bushnell Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bushnell Rescue Squad.

CREVE COEUR ~ Ermil K. DeWitt, 96, of Creve Coeur, passed away at 8:05 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2007 at her home. She was a resident of Creve Coeur for 75 years with her home being one of the first homes.
Born May 25, 1911 in Peoria to Loren and Mary (Schmidt) Smith, she married Edward George DeWitt on December 11, 1925 at Saint Paul
s Episcopal Church in Pekin. He died November 19, 1983 in Creve Coeur. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Sylvia Fury, Melva Lynch, and Olga Shelton.
Surviving are two daughters, Sylvia E. Williamson of Lake Zurich and Joan S. (Marlin) Smith of Creve Coeur; five grandchildren, Patricia E. (Bruce) Jacobson of Cary, Wilbourn E. "Bill" (Carol) Williamson of Pekin, David E. Williamson of Lincoln, Nebraska, Kathleen M. "Kathy" Siegler of East Peoria, and Karen E. (Philip) Fritsch of Peoria; six great-grandchildren, Todd (Jeanette) Jacobson of California, Eric (Nina) Jacobson of Bartlett, Cheryl (Tom) Carlile of Peoria, Pam (Eric) Rahn of Pekin, Todd Williamson of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Lindsay Siegler of Madison, Wisconsin; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Ermil worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 33 years, retiring in 1976 as a worker on the burr bench in buildings J-N in East Peoria.
She was a charter member of Bethel Memorial United Church of Christ in Creve Coeur, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and superintendent of the primary department. She also was on the building committee when the new church was built in 1950.
Ermil enjoyed crocheting, tending to her flowers, working in her yard, and caring for her family.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at Bethel Memorial United Church of Christ in Creve Coeur. Pastor Paul Isom will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2007 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
