Thurman, Nancy L., “Aunt Nan” of Tipp City, OH went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Randall Residence in Tipp city where she lived for three and one-half years.

She was born December 29, 1926, the sixth child of Joe and Hazel Long in Tippecanoe City. She was the lone survivor of that close knit family.

Her siblings were, Robert, Richard, Joe Jr., Norma (Metcalf) and Kathleen (McMullen).

Nancy graduated from Tippecanoe High School in 1945. She was a cheerleader in school. She worked in a local drug store, and then worked retail at the Fashion Shop in Tipp and a retail shop in Troy. She retired from BF Goodrich in Troy where she worked in the office. In retirement she was involved as a volunteer at Upper Valley Medical Center.

She was married in 1982 to Frank Thurman until his death in 1987. Nancy was a lifelong member of the Tipp City United Methodist Church. She loved the Lord and had many friends within the church membership. She was active in a church circle and worked early on at the Wednesday night dinners.

She is survived by 12 nieces and nephews; Robert (Mary Lynn) Long, of Flowood, Mississippi, Melinda (Tom) Boylin, of Plano, Texas, Nancy (Charlie) Hall, of Glennobile, Missouri, Douglas (Lisa) Long, of Sugarland, Texas, Patty Wood, Dick (Cathy) Long, Mary Long, Dianne (Ronnie) Chaney and Sam Long of Tipp City, Becky (Bob) Moore of New Carlisle, Larry (Linda) McMullen and Lee Ann (Dale) Ross of Greenfield, Ohio. Also, Joyce Hartline, a family and friend and caregiver, became an important part of her life. There are 20 great nieces and nephews and many great great nieces and nephews. She always enjoyed being part of their lives and or hearing about their activities. Aunt Nan loved and was greatly loved.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Tipp City United Methodist Church, 6 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH; Pastor Bonita Ritchie officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH.

She was buried in May 2017 in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City, Miami Co., OH, Findagrave #179587750.
