Paul Koffer

Paul E. Koffer, 71, of 130 High St., Eldorado, died Nov. 23, at Wayne Hospital in Greenville.

He was a native of Darke County and had been a member of the Eldorado Volunteer Fire Department for 32 years. He was also a member of the Elorado United Methodist Church, where he had served as custodian since 1956. A mechanic, he worked many years at the Stayton and Kimmel Garage. He retired in 1967 from the State Highway Garage.

Survivors include his wife, Lelia Mae; his mother, Imo Koffer Etzler of Arcanum; one son, Larry of Pitsburg; two sisters, Marlene Wysong of West Manchester and Velma Koffer of Dayton; two brothers, Glenn of Greenville and Robert of Pitsburg; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were Saturday at the Bussard-Barnes Funeral Home, Eldorado, with the Rev. Warren Powell officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Eldorado United Methodist Church or the Eldorado Volunteer Fire Department.

He was born in Warsaw, N.C., and came here in 1966 from Fort Myers. He retired in 1984 as a radiological and nuclear medicine technologist and had worked at Doctors Hospital in Coral Gables, Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers and 18 years with Morton Plant Hospital. He was a 30-year member of Calvary Baptist Church and a volunteer for Christian Outreach Center, Clearwater. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Helen Kay (Kline); a son, Rodney Phillip; his mother Mar (sic) London, and a sister, Shirley Porter, both of Miami; a brother, Nathan, North Carolina; and five grandchildren.
