Candy, as she was known to family and friends, was a remarkable woman. She found joy, fulfillment, and God's meaning in the simplest side of life, baling hay on a summer day, roasting hot dogs over a crackling fire, relishing the love of family on holidays and Sunday dinners, strolling quietly along a creek bank, watching the moon rice in a frosty fall sky. In these things and many others Candy showed the innocence and wonder that too often is left behind in childhood. It was her gift to remain awed and inspried by God's creation as an adult.

Educated, training, credentialed, and likely destined to be a nurse, Candy displayed an unparalleled work ethic and capacity for care-giving. During here 30 year nursing career, Candy worked in various departments in the hospital including Intensive Care, Emeregency Room and Transplant Unit. She served 20 of those years as Nursing Supervisor at Henry County Hospital. She showed tenderness for the most vulnerable, including the very young, the very old, and pets and animals of all kind. Candy was known far and wide for her reliability, steadfastness, and determination.

These were the qualities that made her ans extraordinary wife, mother, and sister. "The boys," as their mother often called them, came to be the defining element of Candy's life.

Candy was a devout Christian and a member of Wilkinson Church of Christ. And so the single life that touched hundreds of lives on earth rejoices in the better home awaiting, with those gone before. There she will wait for those of us to come.
