Cora Lee Shaw, 70, of Lawton, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018 in Lawton. She was born August 4, 1948 in Albany, California to Robert M. and Vivian J. (Gibson) Taylor. The Taylors moved to Lawton when Cora Lee was two years old. She attended Emerson Elementary School, Tomlinson Junior High School, and graduated from Lawton High School in 1966. She attended one year of college at Cameron University. She worked at Han Dee foods on Gore Boulevard while in high school. Cora married Jim Shaw, III in 1967 and had just celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in May. Their two sons Terry and Darry Shaw were born in 1969 and Cora had two grandchildren Kyndal Dunn and Garrett Shaw. Cora had many children that called her Grandma Cora Lee. She was a member of the Junior Service League and manager of Taymor Properties.
Cora Lee was a kind soul, loved babies and taking care of friends that needed a hand, they knew they could count on her to be there for them. She was very quick witted and fun to be around. If you knew her you loved her, she was that type of person. Her house was the house the kids wanted to be at after school, always something neat in the front window on Gore for birthdays and holidays. She was always with Terry and Darry with their wrestling tournaments at Eisenhower High School and always had her big black van full of kids traveling to and from wrestling meets.
She was very proud to say she was one of the Taylor Girls!
She is survived by her husband of the home, her two sons, her two grandchildren, sister, Nan Taylor Kent, aunts and uncles, Jane Green, Nan French, Johnny Taylor and G.W. Taylor, nieces and nephews, Tye Watson, Tia Isbell, Bobby Taylor, Pat Herring, Jay Kent, Corey Kent, John George and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Victor Taylor, sister, GayLynn Herring, niece Kimberly Hopkins.
She was buried in August 2018 in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lawton, Comanche Co, OK, Findagrave #192257584.
