Biography

William Harry Fuller was born on 7 February 1890 in Iowa. I am showing Willam as the son of Allen Fuller and Laura Chapman because he was likely the son of at least one of them, -- but he was born 5 years before their marriage. On the 1900 census, Laura was falsely listed as having been married for 10 years, when they were in fact married in 1895. The most likely explanation would appear to be that William was an illegitimate son of Laura, born out of wedlock, and took Allen Fuller's surname after the 1895 marriage. The most likely alternative explanation would be that Allen Fuller had a marriage or relationship that ended prior to his marriage to his cousin Laura Chapman, and William was from that earlier relationship. William appears to have been raised to adulthood by Laura, and he gave her name as his mother on his 1912 marriage license application -- he probably believed she was his mother, and I have discovered no evidence to the contrary. DLB 2020.1 He married Vea Belle Hire, daughter of James Wesley Hire and Kathryn Mae Price, on 30 October 1912 in Tipton, Cedar Co., IA. William Harry Fuller died in 1962.
