George M. Ott, of Chesterville, Wood County, formerly well known and respected citizen of Wirt County, died at the St. Joseph hospital Parkersburg on Saturday.
George M. Ott born December 3, 1863, departed this life January 7, 1933, aged 69 years, 1 month and 4 days.
He was converted and joined the M.E. Church 40 years ago. Was united in marriage to Miss Mary M. Stalnaker August 12, 1891. To this union six children were born. Four children preceded him in infancy. His wife 13 years ago.
He was married 7 years ago to Mrs. Laura Gant Toncray.
Two children, Mrs. W.S. West of Parkersburg and O.L. Ott of Cleveland, Ohio, survive.
He is also survived by his widow, four brothers and one sister; J.W. Ott of Parkersburg, G.H. of Sandyville, V.H. of Windy, D.E. of Chesterville, and Mrs. A.M. Thomas of Sandyville. Four grand children also survive.
The funeral was held from the farm residence at Chesterville on Monday afternoon. The remains were taken to Elizabeth by undertaker W.M. Pomroy where interment was made by the side of his first wife in the K. Of P. cemetery.
He was buried in January 1933 in Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Elizabeth, Wirt Co., WV, Findagrave #95172202.

Mrs. Mary Ott, wife of George M. Ott of below Elizabeth, died from the effects of an operation in the City Hospital on Friday. She was taken to the home of her brother R.A. Stalnaker of South Parkersburg where she was kept until Wednesday morning when the remains were taken to Elizabeth and the funeral held from the Elizabeth M.E. Church with Rev. D.M. Cain officiating. Interment was made in the K. of P. Cemetery.
Mrs. Mary Stalnaker Ott, daughter of Andrew and Eunice Stalnaker, was born in Lewis County, W.Va., May 1, 1872, departed this life Jan. 16, 1920, aged 47 years 8 months 15 days.
She was united in marriage to George M. Ott August 12, 1891. To this union were born six children, four girls and two boys, four have preceded her to the beyond. She is survived by her husband and two children, Mrs. W.S. West of Elizabeth and Orval L. Ott who was in Texas at the time of her death. Three brothers W.M. and R.A. Stalnaker of Parkersburg, and J.W. Stalnaker of Sutton, W.Va.
She united with the Methodist Protestant church 23 years ago and has lived a devoted christian through life. She is gone but not forgotten.
She was buried in January 1920 in Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Elizabeth, Wirt Co., WV, Findagrave #95172245.
