Mrs. Anna Giesler was the daughter of George and Mary Wolford, was born in Sullivan county, in east Tennessee, June 2, 1832, and died in this city April 7, 1893, aged 61 years.?She was baptized in infancy and was confirmed and became a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church in girlhood.?She was united in marriage to Rev. Henry D. Giesler, a Lutheran minister, on the 9th day of March, 1854, with whom she lived a happy life until Dec. 15, 1864, when her husband was killed in Virginia, he being an officer in the Confederate army.?She was buried in the Oakley cemetery on Sunday, April 9, the services being held in the M. E. church.

She leaves a son, John D., and a daughter, Mary E. Giesler, both of this city.?Mrs. Giesler was a loving wife and a kind and devoted mother and a true and good neighbor.?But above all she has been for many years a Christian, living an earnest Christian life, with a firm hope and trust in her Savior.?A kind mother, a good neighbor and a true friend is gone.? Apparently the marriage ended in divorce with no children, as George remarried to Sallie D. Bond in 1991.

John W. Wolfe was born in Perry county, Pennsylvania in 1851 and lived there until the year 1879, when he moved to Kansas and settled on the Saline river north of Quinter in the month of February.? ? In 1884 he moved on a ranch in the western part of Gove county about fifteen miles from Oakley, where he remained until the year 1898, when he moved to Oakley and engaged in the butcher business.? ? In 1899 he took charge of the Tennessee hotel and made it the first $2.00 a day house in the city.? ? He remained in the hotel business until 1901 when he sold out and again retired for a short time to the farm.? ? During his residence in Gove county he served two terms as County Commissioner and has always been spoken of as the best Commissioner Gove county ever had.? ? Henry L. Giesler, 67, a resident of Palo Alto until February, died Monday night in his home at 5675 Rudy Drive, San Jose, after suffering a heart attack.

Mr. Giesler, a carpenter, had lived in Palo Alto and East Palo Alto for nine years before moving to San Jose. He was a veteran of World War I.

He was the husband of Virginia Giesler, San Jose; the father of Henry L. Giesler Jr., Littleton, Colo., Daniel Giesler of Cupertino and Mrs. Beverly Bell of San Jose. Nine grandchildren also survive.

Henry LaBaron Giesler, 53, Pleasant Hill in Cass County, died Sunday at a hotel in Platte County while attending a meeting.

He was born in Bingham, Utah, and had lived in Denver before moving to this area 10 years ago. He was a meat cutter for the Buy Rite Food Center Inc. and formerly worked for the Kroger Co. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Englewood, Colo. Beryl and her three children are all using the Danks/Dankes surname. It looks like Bessie Deem, maiden name Hill, was Beryl's biological mother. Beryl worked in several restaurants in Colorado and Kansas City, and last worked at Lottie's Restaurant in Raytown, retiring in the late '70s.

On June 14, 1984, she was united in marriage with Donald E. Rasmussen in Las Vegas, NV, and they made their home in Lee's Summit, MO.

She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Rasmussen, of the home; two sons, William R. Giesler and his wife, Darlene, Shipman, IL, Thomas E. Giesler and his wife, Rhonda, Olathe, KS; three daughters, Carolyn Hedgecock and husband, John, Greenwood, MO, Muriel Kay Wright and husband, Jerry, Newburgh, IN, and Mary Lou Talmage, Littleton, CO. one brother, Cyrus W. Kenneth Kirkland Mills, 87, of San Jose, California, passed away October 1, 2021, at home surrounded by family. He was born December 11, 1933, in Oakland Ca., the son of late Reginald and Marjorie Mills. He was the youngest of 2 siblings. On April 24, 1966, he married Beverly Yvonne Mills, the absolute love of his life.
