TOMAH, Wis.-- Leroy L. Welch, 64, of 802 Aspen Lane, died Monday, Nov. 10, in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Madison.
He was born on Jan. 17, 1916, in Johnstown, Colo., to Ralph and Ethel (Giesler) Welch. He married Doris Louise Rixey on July 11, 1940.
He was a retired Army major, and a service officer for the American Red Cross in Monroe County. He was a member of the Tomah Lions Club, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars-Curtiss McNutt Post 1382 and Tomah American Legion Post 201.
Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Dan (Cheryl) Frantz of Tomah; two sons, Ronald of Yabacoa, Puerto Rico, and William of Tomah; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Isabelle Knight (Verner) of Englewood, Colo.; one brother, Harold of San Francisco, Calif.; and one stepbrother. TOMAH, Wis. - Doris "Louise" Welch, 64 , of Tomah, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, in St. Mary's Hospital, Sparta.
She was born Aug. 10, 1921, in Clayton, N.M., to Jesse and Doris (Goodale) Rixey.
She married Le Roy Welch on July 11, 1940. He died Nov. 10, 1980.
They had lived in Tomah for the past 30 years.
She was a longtime Avon representative and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Tomah.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald of Meyerton, South Africa, and William of Necedah; a daughter Cheryl Frantz of Tomah; four grandchildren; and a sister, Nadine Grellner of Kirkwood, Mo.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the White Funeral Home, Tomah. The Rev. Wesley Schirmer will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Memorial Garden Cemetery, Tomah.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8 pm. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the services.

Mrs. Kate Giesler, aged 78 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. M. Whitten, 417 West First avenue, Tuesday noon and the remains will be forwarded to Temple, her old home, for interment. The funeral services will be held at Temple Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock with interment there.
She was the last charter member of the First Christian church at Temple. Mrs. Geisler (sic) was born in Virginia but has resided in Texas for half a century, living at Temple for many years. She, with her husband, Dr. D. A. Geisler (sic), have made their home here since September.
Surviving are her husband, four daughters, Mrs. R. M. Wynne, Bay City; Mrs. R. M. Whitten, Corsicana; Mrs. Joe T. Bonner, Temple; Mrs. Benton McMillan, Zavalla; one son, G. B. Giesler, Temple; 10 grandchildren and other relatives.
Mrs. Giesler had been an invalid for two years.

Betty Jean Whitten was born on 28 December 1934 in Dallas, Dallas Co., TX. She married
Lt. Jerry Dan Godwin. She married Walter Frederick Fink on 20 June 1962 in Dallas Co., TX; after Betty's death, Walter remarried to Darby B. Kethan in 2017, Dallas County. She died on 2 February 2014 in Colmesneil, Tyler Co., TX,

Betty Jean (B.J.) Whitten Fink, 79, has gone home to be with her Lord. B.J. was born December 28, 1934 to Robert Edwards and Elizabeth Cook Whitten in Dallas, Texas. She died February 2, 2014, at her home on Lake Amanda in Colmesneil, Texas, surrounded by her family. B.J. is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Walter, son Jerry Dan Godwin, Jr., daughter Kirsten Hardmant and numerous nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Murdock in 2006; and her brother, Robert Edwards Whitten.
After graduating from Highland Park High School in 1953, in Dallas, she attended the University of Texas.
B.J., Walt and family moved to Concord, California, in 1968, where she dedicated her life to Jesus Christ. B.J. became an accomplished prize-winning artist, author, speaker, song writer, chaplain, prayer warrior, encourager and more. She wrote, produced and directed several Christian plays, which were well received at various churches in California and Texas. While on the speaking circuit of the Christian Women’s Clubs in Northern California, she ministered to many new Christians. She also started a neighborhood bible study that grew to more than 150 women that became a new chapter of Women’s Aglow International, a parachurch ministry.
After returning to Texas in 1979, B.J. and close friend, Elizabeth Brown, started a Women’s Aglow chapter in Dallas. Moving to Houston in 1983, she started a local group, ‘Christians in the Performing Arts’ and again she started a Women’s Aglow chapter there. B.J. was instrumental in the beginning of a new Christian musical drama based on the second chapter of Acts. This ministry grew into “Upper Room Ministries” which was presented nationally and internationally. As a minister ordained by Foundation Ministries to serve our Lord, she served as a Chaplain at the Woodville Health and Rehab. Her ‘Love and Laughter Publishing Co.’ produced a very helpful guide to prayer titled “Time With God.”
B.J. loved her comfortable home by Lake Amanda. Her talents are seen there, displayed and admired by her family and visitors. B.J. will be missed by all who knew her.
Services to celebrate her life will be at First Baptist Church, Woodville, Texas on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Visiting and fellowship at 10:00 a.m.

Betty Jean Whitten was also known as "B.J." Whitten. She lived in 1973 in Concord, Contra Costa Co., CA.
