Robert (Bob) Allen Burgess, age 83, passed away on January 1, 2022 from a long illness. He was born in Connersville, Indiana on July 28, 1938. He grew up in Muncie, Indiana and later resided in La Porte, Texas. Preceding him in death were his parents, Edward and Edna Burgess; wife, Rhoda and younger brother, Jim and wife Jenny. He is survived by his brother, Jerry and wife Dianne from Plant City, Florida; significant other, Lynn Gutierrez from La Marque, Texas; daughter, Robin Slater and husband Dennis from Katy, Texas; son Ron Burgess and wife Jerilyn from North Olmsted, Ohio; grandsons, Jeff Slater, Ryan Slater and wife Bianca, Charles Slater, Paul Burgess, Jeff Burgess; granddaughter Laura Burgess; great grandchildren, Jaxon, Brooklyn and Aria Slater; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He liked taking fun trips to visit new places. Bob was a Houston Astros sports fan enthusiast and also loved following college and pro football games.

Bob was always considerate, caring and thoughtful to everyone. He made it his purpose to never forget to make birthdays and holidays extra special. He was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all.

The visitation celebrating Bob's life will be held from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm., Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Rd, Houston. A graveside service will be held, at Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery in Muncie, Indiana, the date and time will be posted accordingly.
