Raymond Clark

Services for Raymond Craig Clark, 68, of Redding will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday at McDonald’s Redding Chapel.

The Rev. Noble Streeter of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Redding Cemetery.

Mr. Clark died Tuesday at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.

He was born Feb. 9, 1913, in Adin and moved to Shasta County five years ago from Napa. He worked for 31 years at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard, last as an optical lineman. He was a member of La Gigue Dance Club, Let’s Dance, Dance for Fun, and the Senior Citizen of Shasta County.

He is survived by his wife Ann; son Richard of Redding; stepson Ronald Brown of Portland, Ore.; stepdaughter Beverly Brown of New York; sisters Fay Badger and June Siemer, both of Anderson; brother Howard Clark of Adin; and four grandchildren.

July 20, 1938 – August 1, 2021

Modesto, California – After a brave battle with pancreatic cancer, Tom passed away Sunday at his home in Modesto with his wife Katherine by his side. He was born July 20, 1938 in Baker, OR to Gordon and Kathryn Wright and grew up in Napa where attending Napa High he met and married Joan Clark. They had two children, Troy and Kelli. After Joan’s death he married Laurel Husby and they had two sons, Jason and Adam. Tom attended Chico State after which he began a 42 year career in banking, which he began at Bank of California and then became Executive Vice President and CLO of Modesto Banking Co. He retired from Bank of Stockton.

Tom was a man of deep faith and a member and Vestry member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and Wellspring Anglican Church where he volunteered for 10 years at Royal Family Kids Camp. He was a member of Modesto and Ripon Rotary, a Paul Harris Fellow, Chair of Ripon Council of United Way, Foreman of Stanislaus Cnty. Civil Grand Jury, recipient of RMA National President’s Award, and member of Spring Creek GCC.

Tom is survived by his wife of 31 years and soul mate Katherine Gideon Olyphant Wright. He will be missed by his children, Troy (Jennifer) Wright, Kelli Morales Wright, Jason Wright, Adam Wright, and Andy (Robyn) Olyphant, Timothy (Alexis) Olyphant, Matthew (Donna) Olyphant and by his 12 grandchildren: Callie, Westen, Kenzee, Kryndee Wright, Marisa Morales, and Grace, Henry, Vivian, Jack and Faith Olyphant, Anthony Firenzi and Jocelyn Timmer, and his sisters Jan Mellon, Mary Heaton, Nancy Cleary.
