Obituary -- (Findagrave.com):
James Alan Eiler passed away on July 2, 2008. He was a beloved husband, father and friend.
Jim was born in Weed, Calif. on July 14, 1938. He was the son of James and Louise Eiler.
He attended Gazelle Elementary and Yreka Union High schools. He lived most of his life in Gazelle before he entered the United Stated Navy in 1956. He married Judy Lewis in 1956 and had two sons, Gary and Wayne.
After his military service ended he returned to Gazelle and worked with the family business of Pacific Packing Company. He later married Mary Greenwade in 1963 and had two more children, Bruce and Michelle.
As time passed he tried his hand at ranching in the Scott Valley and then found the logging industry and began Jim Eiler Trucking. Recently, due to the economy, he switched from logging to construction. He met Sandra Crader Davis in 1976 and they were later married in 1990. Jim's family grew by adding Heidi, Heather, Heath and Sean.
In his earlier years, Jim served on the Gazelle Elementary School Board as both a clerk and a business representative. He was a bull rider at local rodeos, was a member of the Yreka Elks Lodge BPOE #1980 and the E Clampus Vitus. He also enjoyed the outdoors, his hunting and fishing trips with the guys and spending time with his many friends.
Jim touched many lives with his spirit and will live on with all of us forever. He truly enjoyed his work as well as all the people that he met along the way.
He leaves behind many who love him: his wife, Sandy; his children, Gary, Wayne, Bruce and Michelle; his grandson and the apple of his eye, Casey; as well as his step-children, Heidi (John), Heather (Doug), Heath (Tom) and Sean. He leaves his brothers, Jerry (Ann) and John (Jeanne) and his nieces, Jill and Kristin along with the many friends that he had encountered over the years.
Memorial services will be held at the Mount Shasta Memorial Chapel in Mount Shasta at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, with a graveside burial to follow.
He was buried in July 2008 in Mount Shasta Memorial Park, Mount Shasta, Siskiyou Co., CA, Findagrave #29086945.

HOLY CARD
There is no death! What seem so is transition
This life of Mortal breath;
Is but a suburb of the life elysian,
Whose portal we call death
In Loving Remembrance of
Jeremiah L. Payne,
Died Aug. 1, 1889
A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we lived is stilled;
A Place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
God in His wisdom has recalled
The boon His love had given;
And though the body moulders here,
The soul is safe in Heaven.
He was buried in August 1889 in Anderson-Payne Cemetery, South Boston, Washington Co., IN.
Jeremiah Lewis Payne lived in July 1860 in Franklin Twp., Washington Co., IN.
