For 98 years, Ouida Cargile Reeves lived a rich, full life. She was a lifelong resident of Tippah County before moving to Henderson, TN twelve years ago to be near her family. She passed away peacefully on Thursday December 28, 2017 at the Henderson Villa Assisted Living.
Funeral Services honoring the Christian life of Ms. Ouida will be at 2 PM Saturday December 30 at The Ripley Church of Christ with Ministers, Roy Sharp, Billy Smith and Milton Sewell officiating. Congregational singing will be led by Dan Shappley. Burial will follow at Tippah Memorial Gardens in Ripley. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
Born February 23, 1919 in Tippah County, Ms. Ouida was the daughter of the late Albert and Dovie James Rowland.
A graduate of the Tippah County Public School System, she was a dedicated and valued employee of The Peoples Bank in Ripley for over 30 years until her retirement.
Ms. Ouida was a longtime member of The Ripley Church of Christ and at the time of her death, the oldest member of Henderson Church of Christ. She will be remembered as an ageless lady who was an avid reader of the Bible and had many interests that included quilting, playing bridge, singing, and watching professional football on television. Her loving and gentle Christian spirit was ever present in all aspects of her life.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon until 2 PM today at The Ripley Church of Christ.
Those left to cherish her wonderful memories include her children Katina Cargile Breegle (Gary) of Bend, OR and Kenneth Cargile (Becky) of Lexington, TN, four grandchildren, Betsy Breegle, Christy Breegle Bean (Allan), Ginger Cargile Armstrong (Jim) and Angie Cargile Smith (Chris) and three great grandchildren, Ryan Breegle, Carson and Barrett Moore.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, A.G. Cargile on July 25, 1970, her second husband, David Reeves on October 20, 2002, three sisters, Helen Carter, Alberta Guyton and Mary Agnes Jordan and a brother, Mansel Rowland.
She was buried on 30 December 2017 in Tippah Memorial Gardens, Ripley, Tippah Co., MS, Findagrave #186177232.
