Miss Georgeanna Driver, 90, of 21 Woodlee Road, died Tuesday, August 12, 2014, in Augusta Health, Fishersville.
She was born May 9, 1924, in New Market, a daughter of the late Bryan and Elizabeth (Windle) Driver.
Prior to retirement, Miss Driver was employed as the Dean of Women at Emory & Henry College for many years.
She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
She loved to travel, especially to Japan. She was an avid reader, and loved growing orchids. “Auntie” will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
Family members include two nieces, Elizabeth D. Via and husband, Robert; Ruth D. Wrenn and husband, Dale; a great-niece, Wendy W. Fitzgerald and family; a great-nephew, David E. Wrenn and family; and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Richardson and Nancy Wilson Driver; a niece, Katherine Driver Miller; and two great-nephews, Bryan D. Via and Brian E. Wrenn.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014, in St. John’s United Methodist Church by the Rev. Taylor C. Mertins and the Rev. Dr. Fred Kellogg. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Matthews Cemetery in New Market.
Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

CHURCHVILLE – Nancy Ruth (Wilson) Driver, 69, widow of Thomas Richardson Driver, of Churchville, died at 6:50 a.m. Sunday (May 31, 1998) at her daughter Ruth’s residence.
She was born on Aug. 30, 1928, at Richmond, a daughter of Clarence Calhoun Wilson and Ruth Wells Wilson Bottom.
She received her B.A. degree in education from Madison College and her master’s degree from Old Dominion University. She was a teacher in the Hampton school system and at Riverheads High School for 37 years prior to retiring. She was a member of the Virginia Education Association and the National Education Association.
She was a member of Loch Willow Presbyterian Church and a charter member of the Scottish Rite Bodies in Lynchburg. She was a member of the Churchville Women’s Club.
She was active with the Augusta County Election Committee for many years, working the polls in Churchville.
Her husband preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1997.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Katherine Driver Souder of Middlebrook, Elizabeth Driver and Robert L. Via of Staunton and Ruth Driver and Dale E. Wrenn of Middlebrook; six grandchildren, Bryan D. and Robbie Via, Wendy, David E. and Brian E. Wrenn and Michelle Yoder; and a sister-in-law, Georgeanna Driver of Emory.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Loch Willow Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Michael J. Hoyt, with burial in St. Matthew’s Cemetery, New Market.
Pallbearers will be Ernest Hamilton, Daniel Gano, Robbie Via, Coverly Biller, Greg Floyd and Joe Tusing.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Hevener, Nick Shull, Dr. Rob Marsh, William Mongold, Phil Via and her former students.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 tonight at Henry Funeral Home and at other times at the residence of her daughter Ruth Wrenn of Middlebrook.

Katherine Driver Miller, 51, a resident of Falls Church, and formerly of Harrisonburg, died Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax.
A daughter of the late Thomas R. and Nancy W. Driver, she was born on September 4, 1953, in Richmond.
Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Hampton High School in Hampton, Va., and Madison College (JMU). She was employed by the Rockingham County school system, where she was a teacher, and Leggett's of Harrisonburg.
On August 21, 2000, she married Michael P. Miller, who survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sisters; Elizabeth D. Via (Robert L.) of Staunton, Va.; and Ruth D. Wrenn (Dale E.) of Middlebrook, Va. An aunt, Ms. Georgeanna Driver of Emory, Va. Michael P. Miller, 65, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020 at his home in Virginia Beach, Virginia after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born February 19, 1955 in Washington, D.C., a son of the late Raymond James and Mary Ellen Miller.
Mike was an Old Dominion University graduate and retired from Ratheon as an Electrical Engineer in 2016.
He will be remembered for his love of fishing and his selfless generosity. He will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Katherine Souder Miller in 2004.

He was born March 5, 1980, in Staunton, a son of Robert L. and Elizabeth (Driver) Via both of Churchville and Vernon R. Vines, Jr., of Staunton.
