Albert P. Lokanc, age 87, late of Orland park, formerly of Alsip. Passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at Polos Community Hospital in Palos Heights.
He was survived by his loving family; his wife Geraldine A. "Gerry" (nee Cox) Lokanc; two sons Larry (Connie) and David (Debbie) Lokanc; five grandchildren Lance, Luke, Tara, Ali and Kyle Lokanc; three brothers Joseph, Shirley (Dorothy) and John; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Lokanc was a US Army veteran serving during WWII; he was employed by Eisenhower High School in Blue Island as teacher, A.D., and football coach; and a member of St. Mary's Church in Mokena. He was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Louse Lokanc; a sister Louise (Matt) Osojnicki; a brother Anthony (Peggy); sisters-in-law Betty and Dorothy Lokanc. Family will receive friends at the Kurzt Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox Sunday, November 19, 2006 from 4pm to 8pm. Prayer service Monday, November 20, 206 (sic) 9:30am in the funeral home chapel; following to St. Mary's Church in Mokena for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. In lieu of flowers memorials to Alzheimer's Association or American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

4 Marist Players On All Star Team
Marist High School placed four players on the Chicagoland Prep League All Star Football Team according to an announcement made by League officials. The players are: Dave Lokanc, end; Bob Schwalbach, guard; Jim Hall, linebacker; and Larry Lokanc, linebacker. Jay Mooney, halfback and Tom Durkin, tackle received honorable mention.

Grover F. Jordan is announcing the marriage of his daughter, Helen Jordan, to Morgan W. Hays of San Francisco and formerly of Visalia. The wedding took place at the First Methodist church in Reno, Nevada, on Sunday afternoon, December 14, and was performed by the Reverend Carl Schmidt.
The couple was attended by the father of the bride, Grover Jordan; the aunt of the bride, Mrs. Estella Wilson and by Dunsmore Hays, brother of the groom.
Hayes (sic) is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dee Hays of Visalia and both he and Mrs. Hays are graduates of Visalia schools. He is with the United States Signal Corps in San Francisco.
Morgan remarried to Margaret Young in 1987.

Morgan Walter Hays, 89 of Visalia passed away Thursday, March 4, 2004, at home.
Morgan was born to Dee and Blanche Hays on June 13, 1914, in Avant, Okla., where he was raised. He married Helen Jordan, who in addition to his parents, two brothers, Dee and Dunsmore Hays, and a sister, Minnie Kennedy, preceded him in death.
He was an Electrical Engineer for the Department of Defense and worked at the 4th Army Headquarters, 9th Service Command, Signal Maintenance Division, Presidio, of San Francisco from 1940 to 1954. Morgan was then transferred to Fort Huachuca, Ariz., and worked for the Maintenance Division of Department of the Army until he retired in 1974. While working at Ft. Huachuca, Morgan was a resident of Hereford, Ariz., where he lived for 34 years.
In October 1986, Morgan attended his 50th Visalia High School Reunion and re-established his friendship with Margaret Young. He and Margaret were married in 1987 and established their home in Visalia until his death.
Morgan was a member of the Visalia Elks Lodge #1298, the Loyal Order of Masons #546, Visalia, and the Vagabonds RV Group of Visalia Elks. He was also a member of the Brotherhood Lodge #370, Free and Accepted Masons of California, San Francisco, also the Order of the Eastern Start Electa Chapter #51, Sierra Vista, Ariz. He and Margaret enjoyed traveling the Southwest in their RV.
Morgan is survived by his wife, Margaret Young Hays, stepsons, George Young and wife, Maryann, of Palo Alto, Walter Young and wife, Deanna, of Myrtle Creek, Ore.; stepdaughters, Mae Rodriguez and husband, Joe, of Mariposa, Eva Young and Joe Delucia of San Luis Obispo. Stepson Harry Thomas Young preceded Morgan in death. Morgan is also survived by six step grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, Joe Rodriguez Jr. and wife, Kathy, of Visalia, Brett Young of Sitka Ala., Alicia Rodriguez of Mariposa, Beth Hew and husband, Maurice, of Houston, Texas, Sarina Kim and husband, Sung, of Palo Alto, Manuel Rodriguez and wife, Katie, of Mariposa and a blood nephew Laurance Hays and wife, Linda, of Loma Linda and a sister-in-law, Roberta Jordan Verrue, of Upland.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Thursday at Hadley Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Visalia District Cemetery and officiated by Minister Mile Messenger of the First Christian Church where Morgan attended.
Arrangements are by Hadley Funeral Chapel of Visalia.
Remembrances may be made in the name of Morgan Walter Hays to the charity of your choice.

Roberta Genevieve Verrue, 92, died July 12, 2013 in her home at the High Desert Assisted Living in Bend, Oregon. A Memorial Service will be held in October. Her urn will be laid to rest beside those of her husband, Dick in Belleview Cemetery, Ontario, California.
Roberta was born on May 31, 2013 to Grover and Effie (Anderson) Jordan. She married Richard R. Verrue and was joined for 61 years before his passing. She lived the majority of her life in Southern California. Roberta was blessed with a large and loving group of family and friends. Some of her greatest passions in life included bridge, golfing, sewing, traveling and RV'ing with her husband, Dick, their cat Miss Priss, and friends. She loved camping in the mountains and entertaining. She was a member of the Junior League, Newcomer's Club, an elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Upland, and an active member of the Eastern Star.
Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; and a sister Helen. She is survived by two children, daughter, Carole Cheesman of La Pine, Oregon and son Randall Verrue and wife Sandra of Port Ludlow, WA. Her four grandchildren, Jay Barnum and wife Tamara, Bobbi Tumolo and her husband Sal, Scott Verrue and his wife Diana and David Verrue. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Ruth Verrue and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Baird Memorial Chapel in La Pine is honored to have served the Verrue family.
