Biography

Sharon Mae Davis was born on 3 May 1939

; according to the newspaper article on her marriage*, Sharon was the "granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Davidson". It appears that she was one of a pair of twin girls born in early May, 1939, and listed as age 10 months on the 1940 census, East Grand Valley, Garfield Co., CO., page 1A in the household of Andrew and Olive Alice (Dutton) Davidson. The names of the twins were listed as Shirley and Sherrill Davis. There was no Davis male listed in the household. The two listed daughters of Andrew and Olive were Winnie Davidson, age 23, and Nettie Davidson, age 17. On the 1950 census, in the household of Robert A. Davidson where his parents Andrew and Olive Davidson were living, are also listed Sharon M. and Sherrill K. Davis. The Davidsons had one older daughter, Velma, who had married in 1934 to Lloyd Powers and had two children by 1940. So either Winifred or Nettie was the unwed mother of the Davis twins, and none of the online information about their later lives, including a very comprehensive obituary for Nettie, reveals who was the mother of the twins.
