Rosella M. (Eck) was the third of four children born to Homer Sylvester Eck & Lucy Robert; her siblings were: Henry Edward Eck, Juanita M. (Eck) Marks, and Robert Eugene "Gene" Eck.

She was united in marriage to Leroy Frank Gross. To this union three known children were born: Larry Frank "Joe" Gross, Gordon D. Gross, and Donald E. Gross.

She answered the sudden call to the spirit world from her home at the age of 80y, 6m, 22d and was interred on September 6, 2001.

Gross, Rosella M. age 80 of Dayton, passed away suddenly at her residence on Monday, September 3, 2001. She was born February 12, 1921 at West Alexandria, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy F. Gross in 1967, 2 sons, Larry (Joe) Gross & Gordon D. Gross, 1 sister, Juanita M. Marks & 1 brother, Henry E. Eck.

Rosella is survived by 1 son, Donald E. Gross of Dayton; 2 daughters-in-law, Lana Gross & Susan Gross both of Vandalia; 1 brother, Eugene Eck of West Alexandria; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews & friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, September 6 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with Rev. Bruce Cunningham officiating.

Burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday (TODAY) from 5 to 8 P.M. If so desired contributions may be made to the Dayton Area Heart & Cancer Association in Rosella's memory.

Joe was a former employee of Frigidaire and a self employed Nationwide Insurance Agent for many years. He was a member of the Army National Guard. Jeffery David Gross was born on 22 January 1964. He married Phyllis Ruth Howard on 3 July 1982 in Montgomery Co., OH; in addition to her first husband, Dale Wion, Phyllis was married to James A. Miller in 1973 and divorced from him in 1981. She had a daughter Bethann Marie, born 4 AUG 1975, birth record was also changed to show Jeffrey D. Gross as the father. Of the children listed in Phyllis' obituary, only Chris Gross and Bethann Jimenez are mentioned in Jeffrey's obituary, but he was highly unlikely to have been tje biological father of either one of them (he was only 7 when Chris was born and 11 when Bethann was born ...). Jeff may have legally adopted both Chris and Bethann, thus supporting the change of their birth records, which are in the Ohio Birth Index (Ancestry.com). DLB 2025. Bethann Jimenez was born in AUG 1975 -- her birth record shows the name Bethann Marie Gross, and Jeffrey David Gross as her father. (Jeffrey was 11 at that date).
