F, #17505, b. March 1827, d. 16 January 1902
Parents
Biography
Maria Catherina Elizabeth Semmler was born in March 1827 in Hesse Darmstadt, Germany.
1,2,3,4,5 She married
Lewis Niemeier on 11 April 1850 in Montgomery Co., OH,
license application 6 APR 1850 names her "Catherine Simler".
Three children born, all living as of 1900 census.
She died on 16 January 1902.
She was buried in January 1902 in Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum, Dayton, Montgomery Co., OH, Findagrave #197874794.
Maria Catherina Elizabeth Semmler was also known as "Catherine" Semmler.
Note: This person "Catherina" listed in the family on the 1850 census appears to be the same individual as the "Elizabeth" listed on the ship's passenger list -- the age differs by one year and the birth order is a match. Elizabeth could have been the calling name of a child christened Catherina Elisabetha. On the 1850 census she is annotated "insane" -- perhaps a language issue with the enumerator, since the surname was also mangled to read "Cimley". DLB 2015.
